OK, so they let Gianforte be driven away by his aides, instead of arresting him on the spot.
What I want to know is, does this mean he gets to pull a Cheney? Shouldn’t they be evaluating him for drug use right now? This sounds like more than your run-of-the-mill rage issue, like maybe it’s being fueled by steroids or cocaine or even alcohol.
On the other hand, maybe it’s just fueled by in-house polling…

Why would Chaffetz possibly need to know where they are now? I’m trying to understand how this would even come up in conversation, since he’s not just going to drive wherever Comey tells him. He is asking them to be brought to him, just like he’s been grandstanding since the news came out. So why would this be a conversation to have anyway (other than the obvious cheap movie plot)? But if it’s the cheap plot, why tell the press of your own failure to get the evidence and destroy it? This guy is an idiot.
