Gorsuch had written the trial would probe the Commerce secretary’s “mental processes.”
As long as the trial does not probe any deeper into Wilbur than this I’m all in…
DoJ Attorney: "Duke University Professor D. Sunshine Hillygus serves on the Census Scientific Advisory Committee. That makes her completely unqualified to provide expert testimony in this case.
“I think the court would be much better served hearing only from our own expert witnesses, such as the imminently qualified Dr. Sebastian Gorka.”
Seems unlikely that Wilbur would willingly submit to a public colonoscopy.
They are literally bringing in Sunshine to cast light into the shadows of this totally irregular process, you gotta love that. Commerce has no case, that’s why they fought so hard to avoid a trial, and are trying to keep the evidence of their misbehavior out of the trial. This will go badly for them, and they will go crazy appealing the process…we’ll see how it turns out, but it looks like the judge intends to open the door to showing how bad the process was at least.
U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman sounds like a live wire.
Is it “highly unusual” for a district judge to snap back at SCOTUS judges?
In this case, I am all for it.
So is Gorka finally about to get a real degree?
Gorsuch — joined by Thomas
Wow. Couldn’t even get the third stooge, Alito, to join this one.
Gorsuch had written the trial would probe the Commerce secretary’s “mental processes.”
“This is all highly unusual, to say the least,” Gorsuch said.
Heaven forbid a court should consider a person’s knowledge or intent.
Well, not for someone of Ross’ caliber, at least. Aren’t you aware of the US Code of Billionaire Exceptions?
The Watergate judge John Sirica was a District Judge. In fact he was the Chief Judge of the DC District Court.
I like the way this judge thinks. Clearly not a Trump/Federalist Society flunky.
