So, an organization whose very existence is centered on the elimination of nuanced thinking and surrender to faith is falling back on nuance to make a distinction between homophobia and the church’s alleged genuine teachings?
You can’t have it both ways. Those among your flock most in need of rehabilitation, like this ignorant teacher, won’t ever grasp it. It’s beyond their ability to do so, thanks to your lifelong brainwashing. The damage has been done by your very hand, and this pathetic public relations response is far too little and far too late.
Meanwhile, the church is trying to claim – on religious grounds – that it doesn’t owe any compensation to men raped in childhood by pedophile priests who the church proactively protected after their crimes. What vile sonsofbitches.

Well there is one thing consistent in all the Gay bashing…they have to lie to make a cause for it. No one has ever said folks should be “free to pick being gay” and certainly no Gay person would. What has been said is a person that is gay should be free to opt for a gay lifestyle, marry same sex and such, and not have to hide what they are.
And there is nothing wrong with that. So you have to lie…like the woman did above. Or you can’t practice your bigotry under the cover of outrage.

Um, what you don’t know about history is a lot. The Catholic Church invented logic and science. Some of the greatest thinkers ever where theologians as well as scientists. Please educate yourself, before your secular bigotry embarasses those of us trying to counter sectarian bigotry.

Always an interesting “tell.” In short, the speaker is saying that the only reason he or she gets married and has children is because it’s illegal or socially unacceptable to be gay. So the only thing that guarantees the continuation of the species, in the speaker’s mind, is enforced heterosexuality. No comfortable straight person would ever blunder into making this argument.
Was the post anti-gay or anti-grammar? I gather she shares equal animus for both.

Sure, some Catholics made great contributions to logic and science—in spite of the pervasive Catholicism of the society in which they lived, not because of it.
