Discussion for article #227578

Wow, so one guy pounding on his keyboard in his basement is skipping next year’s Saint Patty’s Day Parade. Well, alert the fucking media, folks.

Good. Take your ball and go home.

Is it an actual group? I’ve only ever seen him. And while he’s large, he’s not “group” large.

Kathy Griffin put it best when describing the Catholic League: " just that one guy and his computer."

Bill Donohoe of course. No one else does a better job of promoting intolerance, bigotry and disgusting criminal behavior as a religious virtue and right like he does.

Poor Bill Donahue. Bigots are such pathetic creatures.

No loss for the parade at all.

“We’re taking our Jesus and going home.” “Jesus was all about pussy and being afraid of the gay.”

What a bunch of babies. I’ve decided to only say nice positive things to the Jesus crowd now but they are still upset with me.

Whats wrong with saying Jesus had a big dick ? I thought they’d be proud. Mary Magdalene loved his dick.

And don’t let the door hit you on your ass on the way out. BTW, the Catholic League basically consists of this clown and four priests in Brooklyn who just got done buggering some altar boys. But he’s managed to convince gullible tv producers he speaks for a vast organization.

Isn’t the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights a pro-life group? What’s he whining about?

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out of the parade.

That is their right to withdraw. Go stand in a corner but we should keep an eye on the children.

Bill Donohue doesn’t represent most Catholics. Even my 87-year old father (raised in a strict Catholic family) believes that if we are all God’s creatures, then God must approve of all of us.

Spluttering, choleric, puffy, red-faced O’Donohue has “stiff” on his booze-addled mind quite a lot of the time.

Good riddance.

I wonder if New Yorkers see any irony in a group describing itself as “for civil rights” and then coming out as a loud supporter of bigotry. These groups give Catholicism, and religion in general, a bad name.

uh… you do realize the catholic league is essentially a one-man operation…

I had wondered that also and finally checked it out. Their 2012 tax form (public info) shows an organization with income a bit over three million, a bit under four if you include investment income. (Non-profits have to do mark to market). He gets $407K, his VP gets $209K and the 14 board members don’t get paid. I’m not sure if this means that there are no other workers or if they are below some dollar figure. The really amazing part is the assets of 30 million. They gave a grant of $250K to the Catholic bishops.

He really should pay more for the right to use the word “Catholic” but unfortunately the church predates copyright law.
