On a Mac, just hold down the letter key and the option should show up.

“Shock and awe”

Yes. Mueller’s targets: Shock.
Me: Awe.

Yes. I agree with this. Gates is of a more stable mind, is more organized, detailed, and has hands on knowledge as the guy who executed all the action items from every meeting Manafort did. Manafort is more of a salesman and deal maker. The one value Manafort has (and I think it is diminished with Gates involved) is that he has a first person account of the Trump Tower meeting. I do believe that there is more to that meeting than what Junior talked about. A lot of it would’ve been over Junior’s head. But Rinat Akhmetshin, Ike Kaveladze, Natalia Veselnitskaya are big time players. So is Paul Manafort. They were communicating at a different level and the reference to ‘donations’ and ‘RNC’ allegedly in Manafort’s notes tie to Mueller’s current inquiry as to what happened at the RNC. In addition, if Manafort agreed with Junior/Kushner that all that ‘adoption’ stuff + donations to HRC’s campaign wasn’t what the campaign was looking for, Manafort would’ve signaled to the Russians that Trump needed more, just as Veselnitskaya was signaling in that meeting that the Russians needed more. That itself supports the conspiracy. Team Trump was looking for a specific form of assistance, and asked the Russians to sharpen their pencils and do better. The Russians, in turn, made it clear from that meeting to Page’s meetings, that they wanted real policy change action on Ukraine and sanctions. Gates can tell that story, but having a first person account would be nice too. But at this point it’s a ‘nice to have’ not a necessity. That’s why Manafort has hurt his value.

I’ll never understand Page. I sometimes think this is an act but what he reveals in his interviews seems to do him more harm than good.
Those dimples, goofy expressions & silly mannerisms won’t get him out of this mess.

Oh I think he’s only got half the wit of a half-wit.

@mattinpa Maybe Carter has a new and undiagnosed personality disorder?

Super easy. Hold down the ALT key then you type a 4 digit number. Here’s a handy list of all the codes:

nearly coherent russian spy says what?

Page loves his country so much I bet he almost thought about telling the truth to the FBI, then he remembered who he was working for and knew he’d be fired by tweet or something if he even tickled the truth

Page should take a swing from a rope, Spadau Ballet style

I think this whole pack of loons is ripe for further study by the psychiatric profession. Rarely have so many messed-up people gathered in such proximity. Trouble is sometimes the profession throws up its hands when a person is just simply awful and labels what’s going on with some vague catchall like “character disorder.”

Too bad these “character disorders” can’t be labeled a public health crisis, we could use some quarantining.

interesting historical read - Louise Mensch gets beat up a lot but this article from Jan 2017 has a lot of topical shit in it that is becoming more relevant in light of recent events:

I bring it up as I wanted to read more about the hacker and his arrest/extradition.

ETA: pulled it off this Greg Olear thread also worth a quick mosey through. Anything that potentially puts fear into Ghouliani is good by me.

To get umlauts, tildas or diacritical marks, I open a blank Word doc, click on “Insert,” “symbols,” then copy and paste into what I’m writing online.

Again, their sheer incompetence, ignorance, and blurting out wins the day. It’s astounding that at this point, not one of them (save Gates, the coffee boy, a few others who are cooperating) recognizes the quicksand of shit they are standing in. Starting with President Dunning-Kreuger.

Is this photo from when Page sang “O Sole Mio” for his Three Tenors audition?

Suppose Carter Page is a double agent working for the FBI or some other intelligence agency?

“I told them, you know, a lot of everything I’ve essentially been doing for quite a long time, including, obviously, you know, everything in Cleveland,” Page said.

Doubtful – he’s still alive.

…a lot of everything… Maybe that accounts for the wiggle room.

IIRC there was reporting that Manafort was taking notes on his smartphone during the TT meeting. Is it possible that he texted/emailed these notes to Gates, since Gates was the operational guy?

And all the video of Michael Flynn leading chants of “Lock Her Up!”
