Discussion for article #241310
It is sickening when gun profits are more valuable than peopleâs lives. There should be a ban on the sale of certain types of weapons in this country as well as body armor. After all, a person who uses any military style weapon to hunt is a bad hunter who should be ashamed of themselves.
I wish heâd explain why that would be a bad thing. You know, get his paranoid fantasies out there for all to see.
So, Ben. Which guns, if any, could be registered? If gun registration is to help investigations should a gun be used in a crime, then it should apply to all guns. How about simply proof of ownership or recovering lost items? Donât people register their dogs?
He said that the U.S. needs to look for âearly warning cluesâ about potential shootersâŚ
âWhat I worry about is when we get to the point were we say we need to have every gun registered, we have to know where the people are, and where their guns are, thatâs very dangerous,â he said. âAnd that I wouldnât agree with at all.â
So, a conservative objects to tracking lethal, inanimate objects. Yet he endorses tracking living, breathing citizens?
G*ddamit! This fool is just irritating me no end.
"Obviously, there are those who are going to be calling for gun control,â Carson told radio host Hugh Hewitt. âObviously, thatâs not the issue. The issue is the mentality of these people.â
OK. Just for sake of ___________ and giggles, letâs run with this idea.
What is he proposing? If mental health issues are the crux of Americaâs murderous tendencies, what can be done in that regard? Is he proposing to build more mental asylums where people can be housed and treated? I donât think heâs referring to background checks because that would limit the number of obtainable guns and, to paraphrase a movie line, the guns must flow.
Heâs saying that guns arenât the problem, we should never limit the number of obtainable guns. He saying that crazy people are the problem. So what is this idiot savant proposing to do, anyway?
It makes sense, because the last thing weâd want to impose on Responsible Gun OwnersŽ⢠would be responsibility if mass murder is committed with their gun.
I think youâd actually get in more trouble if a neighbor kid discovered your porn stash and distributed it to all his friends than if he found one of your guns and killed a bunch of people.
Carson: It Would Be âVery Dangerousâ To Have âEvery Gun Registeredâ
Oh I agree Ben, Look what happened to all those âCarsâ âTrucksâ and âMotorcyclesâ when we started to register them .
Total Mayhem
Because Freedom
Very dangerous indeed. Like how youâre always seeing reports of gun violence and dictatorship in Switzerland, where every gun is registered.
Registration isnât even on the table as far as I know. But the argument often goes that universal background checks would somehow be a precursor to registration and then confiscation. Thatâs because the slippery slope fallacy is very handy when the thing you object to isnât really objectionable. But thatâs Carson, isnât it? He takes the most extreme and indefensible position against a nonexistent suggestion proposed by an imaginary liberal cabal because heâs a dizzy SOB who canât even keep straight whatâs going on around him.
No, what would be dangerous is having you as President Ben.
Iâm all in favor of improved mental health care but Iâve lost all patience with their âsix degrees of rich manâs tax cutâ theory that Republicans have anything whatsoever to offer.
Dr. Carson: âthe US needs to look for âearly warning cluesâ about potential shooters in order to prevent tragediesâŚâ
Why? Since he and the rest of the r/w are against any kind of gun control these people would end up owning guns anyway.
âFollowing the deadly shooting at a community college in Oregon on
Thursday, Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson said that
lawmakers should not discuss gun control laws.â
What can I say to that derp?
Dr Ben, you are evil and you are driving me to drink.
I want you to go to Oregon and tell that to the grieving parents of those who were murdered. Those kids were MURDERED, Ben, and by your words you support what happened.
Always count on this dummy is say something inane at the worst possible time.
Because one day a totalitarian dictatorship could arise in America and they will know where to come and get your guns. Of course that dictatorship could seize NRA membership rolls too. They could also find all pro-gun posts on message boards and Facebook and trace them through ISPs.
As far as mental health, yeah it would be great if everyone who needed it got it. But a great many loons donât believe theyâre crazy and would need to be compelled by the heavy hand of government to get treatment. Is that what Carson is proposing? And then we have the Dylan Roofs and the like who probably donât meet any clinical definition of mental illnessâŚ
âWhat I worry about is when we get to the point were we say we need to have every gun registered, we have to know where the people are, and where their guns are, thatâs very dangerous,â he said. âAnd that I wouldnât agree with at all.â
He does have a point. After all, look how dangerous it is to have all cars registered. Oh waitâŚ
Next heâll be uncomfortable with Muslims doing gun purchase background checks.
Seriously, is this guy firing on all cylinders?
Maybe his neurons need re-wiring â anyone know a good brain surgeon.
Oh, wait.
