Just tell a rich guy that you’re going to raise his taxes from 30% of his AGI to 35% of his gross income and see the reaction you get from him … and from the Republicans in Congress.

What is the purpose of this? Did he even say? Did he even TRY to provide a justification, i.e., a real world problem to which this regulatory change is rationally related in some fashion? It’s all about making the poor put their skin in the game. Because it’s not enough that many poor people literally work themselves to the bone just to survive. We need them to pay for their immoral poorness until they learn to pick themselves up by their own boots and get rich.

Except our political climate and attitudes have really deteriorated since 2012. Romney’s statement really hurt his candidacy - now, Carson will be applauded for this proposal, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Congress passes it.
