Discussion: Carson 'Regrets' Using Prison Example To Prove Being Gay Is A Choice

Discussion for article #233981

Dommyluc ā€œregretsā€ having to use the ā€œassholeā€ example to prove Ben Carson is one.
But please keep speaking, Ben, and encourage your fellow Teabagger friends who have Presidential ambitions to do the same.

Jeez, what an idiot.

I would have more respect for this apology if he simply regretted being a steaming a-hole.

ā€œI simply have decided I’m not going to really talk about that issue anymore,ā€ he told Hannity. "Because every time I’m gaining momentum the liberal press says, ā€˜Let’s talk about gay rights.’ I’m just not going to fall for that anymore.ā€

Nice try, but unless the Dr. is talking about neurosurgery, just about everything that comes out of his mouth is moronic nonsense. So, please proceed, Doctor.

He ā€œregretsā€ the negative press coverage following his verbal diarrhea.

Is being an asshole a choice? Is the decision to pontificate about things you know nothing about a truly voluntary choice? Is a simply the result of a permanent reduction in self control induced by too much exposure to sub-clinical levels of anesthesia? Who knows? This is fair and balanced reporting. We ask the questions, you decide.

Yea, regrets written even before he opened his pie hole…

Too late, Doc. You can’t put your toxic toothpaste back into the tube!

To be or not to be … an a-hole. To so lay out the dilemma points to solution. Whether it’s the only way, the various theories, collected, organized and reconciled to date into a comprehensible proto-science of human behavior and psychology strongly suggest, that in the overwhelming percentage of cases, it may well be so:

ā€œA scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.ā€

Bullshit.

He knows the stooges he is courting for votes lapped that up.

That he thinks he’s ā€œgaining momentumā€ is just as wrong as what he said about being gay.

He should just cut the mealymouthed crap and apologize for being Ben Carson.

Wait… are you saying he’s in it to the death?

The ultimate duty of the Commander-In_Chief is to press that red button or make that phone call to unleash the missiles. The president doesn’t get the opportunity to walk back his decision. Republicans, time and time again have walked back statements and positions once they see which way the wind blows. Once again, a republican reveals that he is not ready for prime time, and probably never will be.

When it comes to the position that sexuality is biologically determined—a position he opposes—he resorts to an argument that’s based on alleged lack of scientific evidence. But then when it comes to the idea that sexuality is entirely preferential—a position he endorses—he offers the ridiculous notion that men are entering prison straight and leaving gay without a scintilla of the scientific evidence that he says is so crucial to his first opinion.

His asinine misuse of ā€œscienceā€ is exactly the same kind of ā€œreasoningā€ that Evangelical Christianists use when referring to the Bible: they cite the portions of the Bible that appear to support their idiot notions, and completely ignore the multitude of other parts of that same Bible that completely refute their assertion.

Carson will no longer talk to ā€œliberalā€ media??? If true, he will only talk to who? FOX. Now how is that going to expand his popularity. NOT!

Isn’t it hilarious how many Teabagger dipshit are screaming, ā€œI am not going to discuss the issue anymore!ā€, as though the Divine Right of Kings applies to them? ā€œI was caught in bed with my Republican donor’s 13-year old son, but I AM NOT GOING TO DISCUSS THAT! We have more pressing issues, like contributing to the total dysfunction of our government!ā€
The 2016 Presidential campaign may end up being the most hilarious in American history. How can Jon Stewart quit at a time of unbelievable comedy fucking gold?!

The doctor is so not ready for prime time.

The thing that bothers me the most about Ben Carson is that he doesn’t have any more chance than Herman Cain of getting the GOP nomination. A ticket of Carson/Santorum would be comedy gold.
