“Hitler’s war machine” rolled over the armed militaries of Poland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the British expeditionary force; it pushed back the armed forces of the Soviet Union. It also rolled over the armed insurgency in Warsaw later in the war. That pretty much tells us that if his victims had had more access to guns, the impact would have been minimal at best. Now, now, Ben, nobody thinks you meant to diminish the enormity of the Holocaust. They just think you’re a huge dizz-bomb who barely knows what he’s babbling about four-fifths of the time.
SIDE NOTE: Jesus, I wish people would use the word “atrocity” for things instead of “tragedy” all the time. A bunch of deaths from a tsunami, say, is a tragedy. A bunch of deaths caused by out-of-control depraved humans is an atrocity.
