Discussion: Carson: CA Shootings ‘End Of The Argument’ For Admitting Refugees

Discussion for article #243463

This is fun:

If that is not the end of the argument, one would have to be very
suspect about the motives of bringing people into this country

Translation: if you disagree with my immigration policy, you are obviously part of the fifth column attacking us from the inside and therefore should be treated like a terrorist yourself. Scary, scary ideas are getting thrown around with reckless abandon nowadays.

Can we send Dr. Carson back to Detroit?

So, since there are Terrorists from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, we MUST respond by banning people from Syria!..

Does anyone else think that this sounds just incredibly stupid?

Obviously, Brain Surgery isn’t, well, brain surgery…

According to the Washington Post, the Republican presidential candidate said that shooter Tashfeen Malik’s easy passage through the U.S. visa vetting process should be the “end of the argument” for accepting refugees from Syria.

The visa vetting process is not at all the same as the vetting process for Syrian refugees. Normally, I would suspect that he knows that but wants to engage in cheap demagoguery, but with Carson, who knows? He really probably doesn’t know this.

And action has already been taken regarding the Visa process with more likely to come.

As far as she goes, Carson seems to be saying he’d forbid marriage to anyone from abroad, and forbid all immigration. A mistake could be made! Except of course he’s not talking about that. He’s saying we should never admit Scary Moozlems cause they might kill us like how they do. In the meantime a Norwegian was arrested for making an airport bomb threat in Philly. I have a similar argument to Dr. Carson’s: If anyone ever does something wrong with a gun, BAN ALL GUNS FOREVER. No? Don’t like that one? Overreaction, you say? Well whattaya know.

Trump and Carson were inspired by this quote to run for president:

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” - H.L. Mencken

This is the part where I once again marvel that this ignoramus made it through an Ivy League college with sufficiently stellar grades to get into one of the nation’s most prominent medical schools, where he also excelled, and then became one of the nation’s leading neurosurgeons.

Of course, there’s a similar mystery to be noted about Rhodes Scholar Bobby Joe Jim Bob Jindal.

Likewise, the Colorado Springs shootings are end of the argument for tolerating radicalized Christianic proto-terrorists.

I’m going to send the doctor’s 2¢ back with thanks for sharing his thoughts with ALEC, that sterling group which has always done its best to corrupt this country.

Let’s see…she wasn’t a refugee, and she wasn’t Syrian, but this should end the argument for allowing refugees into the country?

With that sort of logic, it should also end the argument for whether or not we allow ESPN to continue to broadcast football. It should also end arguments over whether toilet paper goes over or under the roll.

Except, of course, they weren’t refugees. One was a citizen, the other his fiance.

I think most everybody who weighs in at this forum knows more about the vetting process for Syrian refugees, 18-24 months, interviews with DOS, DOD, FBI, etc., so that means almost any one here is smarter than this guy. Well done, guys!

Dr. Carson proposes banning Feen-A-Mints after the California terror attack…

Uh Ben, you do realize that the shooter was a U.S. citizen, not a Syrian refugee … don’t you?
Or do you subscribe to that favorite social conservative mantra:
"If you’ve seen one (fill in your least favorite ethnic, cultural, or religious minority), you’ve seen them all."

9/11 ended the argument for having a Republican president. The GOP government shutdown in 2013 ended the argument of whether the GOP was a fanatical cult. Carson’s standing in the GOP polls have ended the argument of whether the conservative base has completely lost touch with reality. However, the CA shootings have only ended the argument against pubic safety through sane and responsible gun control laws
