I promoted the product, I was paid money, but I have no business relationship with the company!

They’re just digging a deeper whole. It’s pretty obvious that Carson’s response to the debate question was deceptive; he clearly has or had a business relationship with the company. Williams’ statement that there was no written agreement but there was a “gentlemen’s agreement” sounds like a lawyer’s non-denial denial; the implication is that there was an oral agreement, a contract negotiation but perhaps the contract was never signed. In any event,it’s obvious that Carson had a business relationship with the company and it would not surprise me if they gave him stock.

Carson, like most of the other GOP candidates, feels free to lie, believing that they can get away with it; when called on it, they don’t want to admit they were wrong. His attempt to cast blame on his opponents is absurd; even if someone did leak this information, it’s irrelevant. What matters is what the facts are, that Carson did not tell the truth, and that he continues to try to evade.

¨Taylor told Breitbart that there was “a gentleman’s agreement,” not a contract, between him and Carson¨ …

¨Gentleman´s agreement¨, aka verbal contract.

Why can’t some one just ask him how much he got paid for his speeches or haw much money he has received from the company? He has been answering the questions precisely that have been asked, but people are asking the wrong questions

I don’t think democrats will have to worry about Carson. White male republicans will do everything they can to prevent another black guy being president.

But, but…that’s the Republican way!

Hilarious how Carson and his minions are trying to hide this obvious associations, contract or not. They will be successful at pulling the wool over the eyes of the Pubbie voters but everyone else knows the truth, now don’t we?

The scandal, like most scandals about most Republican, is what’s normal. Dr. Carson is little different from every other doctor who’s ever promoted every other food, drug or device. Perhaps a bit underpaid, if his free trip to Phoenix didn’t also include an honorarium. This is standard practice.

Although people aren’t wrong to call out the potential for corruption, I still think it’s a better arrangement than letting drug companies advertise on TV.

So he promoted quackery snake oil on a handshake and didn’t even get paid despite the handshake?

That’s their defense?

Come on now, Carson just accidentally fell into that chair to laud a bunch of snake oil. It wasn’t his fault he hyped that snake oil. I mean, how many times have you just been careless and wound up being in a studio touting some snake oil when all you were doing was trying to find your car keys?

  1. When you are explaining you are losing
  2. When you are in a hole stop digging
  3. If what you are saying isn’t true, then stop saying it
  4. Refer to the first three above if you want this to get better and not worse

It depends upon what the definition of the word “have” (or “any,” or “involvement”) is.

Question: Are there any general ethical standards for their candidates that the movement conservatives still adhere to? I don’t think so, because of their worldview and relationship with reality. For them it’s an all-out war with the rest of us, with the survival of the nation in the balance. I doubt, at this point, that Carson or any other wingnut hero would see much loss of support if he or she walked out on a stage with a dog on a leash, killed it, cooked it, and ate it. Their supporters would just wave it away and yell about Benghazi some more. From his announcement speech onward, Trump has done a series of things that would have been fatal to anyone in normal circumstances. I think the traditional, reality-based population has a hard lesson to learn about how the wingnuts think, what they’ll excuse, and what it’s going to take to defeat them politically.

Here is a perfect defense for Carson, and I hope he makes it. Think of the fall out!
This is a racist attack!
At least two other GOPPERS (Trump and Fiorino) lied in the debates and what is said about them?
NOTHING!
“GOPPER lied” has become so institutionalized it is not even a story anymore.
But, the Black guy tells a whopper and the media goes nuts!
