Discussion: Carlson Apologizes For Calling Guest 'F*cking Annoying' But Says It Was 'Heartfelt'

“Whatever my faults or those of this channel, nobody in management has ever told us what positions to take on the air.”

I’m quite sure this is an accurate statement. Your corporate masters screened you before you were hired, and you know well what is expected of you. It’s much like the situation between Henry II of England and Archbishop Thomas a Becket. Henry didn’t have to order the murder in the cathedral – his minions knew well what their master wanted done. All Henry had to do was to allude to “that turbulent priest!” and Becket’s fate was sealed.

Mr. Carlson, I do not have a show on a Faux-news network that I have to hold on to for dear life because I am unemployable anywhere else like you do, so I can say whatever the hell I want and NOT have to apologize for it, so I am unapologetically calling you a fucking asshole, and that’s from the bottom of my ever-lovin’ heart-felt heart!

Totes adorbs, beotch!

Tucker isn’t a journalist. He’s a nightly infomercial for Preparation H.

Well, it’s hard to find, since it’s the same size as Trump’s brain.

Of course, if it was the size of Trump’s ass, Tucker could fill the universe with love. (Rimshot, please, Francine!)

yes, toddlers tantruming mean it with total sincerity as well - it’s just that screaming and crying over not getting a cookie are not valid or rational responses

Yep - Bregman struck a raw nerve there, didn’t he, buddy?

Oh you don’t really mean that, M - what is your heart telling you?

It would be quite easy to call Carlson and most of Fox News “annoying”, but that would be akin to the people of Atlanta calling General Sherman “annoying” shortly af
ter the end of the Ciil War.

Preparation H does NOTHING for verbal diarrhea!!

I assure you I don’t have a secret man-crush on Tucker Carlson and I’m just being dismissive to protect myself. I really do, in my heart of hearts, think he’s a sneering preppie snot-nose punk.

it’s good that you’re in touch with your feelings

But of course one thing we learn from Tucker-watching is you shouldn’t necessarily act on your feelings or have them in the first place. Some people have awful, bad feelings and should make themselves feel differently than that. Being your genuine self is not recommended for everyone, or shouldn’t be.

‘I’m sorry but he’s an ahole’…quite the apology Tucker.

In fairness, I think right-wing media from Fox News all the way down is basically just a matter of greed–pandering to an organically existing community of generally dim and angry people for the highest ratings, and doesn’t really fit with any more nefarious explanations. They give their audience what they want, and that’s about it. Carlson doesn’t need his bosses to dictate policy to him–it’s not rocket science to figure out what red meat to toss.
