Democratic senators should give interviews in the hallways anyway. Fuck McConnell.
Gerrymander hallways until they are “press corridors”.
“We are one tripped senator away from losing our access.”
Too late, most Senators are already tripping.
Mass civil disobedience by media now required for sake of democracy.
Chuck Todd will get right on that.
The best response to any attack on journalism is always more journalism.
The reporters need to outsource some money to puppeteers then mock the fuck out of these cowards.
Are you expecting them to risk their six-plus figures salaries?
You don’t know many journalists, do you?
Those reporters should say loud and clear this is McConnell and his fellow Republicans in the Senate, not the Congress or the Senate (= both sides).
Apparently, Republican Senators don’t think they can fend for themselves.
Cowards. Poltroons. Chickens.
Bwawk! Bok! Bok! Bwooowk!
George Orwell is smiling at his vision of the future coming to horrifying fruition.
This is getting more and more horrifying. I can’t even come up with snark at this point.
And @maximus, I think Orwell is cringing that his warnings have not been heeded.
I think the press needs to push back with everything they have. How dare a group of Republican Senators declare the free press has no right to be in a PUBLIC building (i.e., one the taxpayers fund) in order to do their jobs!
Every day I get more and more heartsick i seeing the once-great country sliding down the slippery slope of authoritarianism. And most of the R’s just turn their heads and walk away
That hog of a “health care” bill is almost ready for slaughter. Christ, McConnell is an evil fuck.
How do they enforce? This sounds like an illegal rule to me.
Sue. This isn’t even remotely a safety measure other than keeping the GOP safe from themselves, the press and the 1st Amendment. This rule essentially screams “GOP senators are too fucking [insert $1 in the jar] to be trusted not to say dumb shit when giving impromptu interviews”
Gianforte will act as hall monitor.
@sniffit Aye. Orrin Hatch told a reporter the GOP isn’t interested in selling the AHCA to the American people because it’s too busy selling it to senators.
