If this POS legislation and Dodd-Frank repeal was all you had to offer the American people, youād subvert democracy too.
The days when Republicans cared about democracy died a long time ago. Poor little Mr. Amphibian is out there shrieking about that well-known sick, depraved, criminally-intended miscreant Mueller. And taking medicine out of the mouths of babes is so very social-Darwinistā¦I mean, what sensible person would disagree with this agenda?
Rule of law? We donāt need no stinkinā rule of law!
Yes, yes he can and the Trumpsters will lose coverage or have their costs sky rocket all to give a tax break to the wealthiest among us. Meanwhile the ābaseā will scream, cry and blame the Liberals for this disaster
Theyāll try, but whatever the outcome, the Republicans are going to own this one. Those angry voices at their town halls really arenāt coming from paid agitators.
Jonestown.
McConnell will get enough Republicans to do what he wants - with no hearings, no amendments, no transparency. What was that term I kept hearing about the ACA from a certain Senator from Kentucky? Oh yeah - ājammed it down our throats.ā Fuck you, Mitch.
And this guy:
āIām comfortable being a part of 51 senators that improves the outcome of Americaās health insurance conversation, which requires us to act,ā Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) said last week.
Improve the outcome of the health insurance conversation? Not Americaās health care, not the health insurance coverage, not the health insurance system. Improve the outcome of the conversation - in other words, get people to shut up and stop talking about it. Fuck you, too, Tim Scott.
Is slime moist? Of course he will most certainly try. The Senate ācommitteeā could not reach consensus so I would not be surprised in the least to see him modify rules to bring the nasty House bill to a vote with no warning or hearings.
Apparently this Tim Scott (R. S.C.) is a real right-wing piece of work, Uncle Tom on steroids!
They have already subverted Democracy.
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)
At least heās providing lubeā¦
Filibuster this shit. And when McConnell abolishes the filibuster, you turn around as soon as you get the majority back and you ram Single-Payer down their fucking throats.
Edit: Along with a SCOTUS expansion pack and a whole lot of other Democratic wish-list items like DC/PR statehood, Redistricting reform, and taxation.
Ram it down your throat?
Weāll show you how to ram it down your throatā¦
Democrats ,
What a bunch of pikers, holding discussions and allowing people to read and discuss a bill before passing it.
Amateurs
The single most important thing the Republicans have on their agenda right now is a humongous tax cut for their wealthy donors - period. Doing something this unpopular right now for that reason reinforces everything I have learned about our so-called democracy in the last 20 years. They and their donors understand that a few folks will lose their elections over this, but if you fall on your sword for this cause you will be given a multi-million dollar fake job after you are voted out. Healthcare destruction just happens to be the easiest mechanism to accomplish this. They have no policy, no plan and no scruples. Our leaders need to get off of Trump and Russia and start screaming about this from the hilltops. And we all need to be calling our senators, Republican or Democrat, every day up until this POS goes for a vote.
Edited to add: Every time a so-called āmoderateā Republican says that a change has been made that now allows them to vote for this with good conscience, 10,000 people with chronic disease die for no reason other than rich people greed.
I am sure you recall, but the GOP added about 1,000 insurance company friendly amendments to the ACA. Then they kick screamed and bitched about how little time they were given to read the bill with all their fucking amendments before voting.
I agree with everything you said except for thisā¦
If we fail at revealing and resolving this, there will be nothing to scream from the hilltops about. I am having a difficult time understanding that even the most ardent grifter, which I feel all Republican politicians are in current times, can avoid the fact that if they destroy the country, they destroy their own opportunities.
The need to put Russia on the front pages every day diminished with the appointment of Mueller - if Trump fires him, then we can go back to screaming about that. But healthcare needs to be the number one thing we are calling our senators about right now - not Russia.
Edited to add: Republican senators reported much less phone traffic and protests over this last week.
The need to put Russia on the front pages every day is growing in intensity:
Itād be nice if a majority of Democrats supported single payer today, but theyāre keeping a mighty big secret if they do.
