Apparently no one in his campaign knows how words work. If I say that “I regret running over your toes with my cart”, I am not apologizing. This sounded more like Trump was saying “I regret eating 500 hot dogs in one sitting and now my stomach hurts!”

Not buying it. As he was saying it, I was thinking it’s just not him. Or, even if he might have come up with it, it was after a very long conversation with his new mommy.

Yes, I was pretty disappointed to see that the reaction from Hillary’s camp also included the word “apology” – usually they are better with nuances than that

Kellyann lies …Donnie said he regretted what??? His words…He never said he was sorry or apologized for anything to anyone. The only time he has needed a teleprompter is when he is stating what he does not believe…Like the ‘Foreign policy speech’ and this non-apology word salad…

We’ve all seen clunky tone deaf non-apology apology’s, but this has to be one of the all time worst ever. How is it that Republicans can screw up–without fail–an apology? I know it’s because they are not sorry, but even with that, how hard is it to apologize even if your not being sincere?

Exactly. This allegedly coming from the guy who has over and over said “never apologize” or “never settle” or “I don’t have any regrets” or “I have nothing to ask forgiveness for” (and in the context of talking about his so called Christianity, lol!)
If he was leading, or even tied, he’d never apologize. He’d be saying “looks like they like what I’m saying!”
