Ah honey voters know the Republican message, the message that hasn’t changed for years. The message that once enacted doesn’t help.
“Let’s serve notice to the Democrats in California that we are back and we are ready to deliver on the Republican comeback,” Patterson said after winning. “Then let’s dig in and make it happen.”

“California Republicans are every bit as Republican as Republicans across the country,” Allen said in an interview last week. “It’s about time we have a Republican party that stands for our values, our ideals and supports our Republican president.”
But some of Trump’s most fervent California supporters were disappointed by the outcome. Stephanie Sporcich, a teacher, said she got involved with the state party because of Trump’s election. She cast her vote for Allen, and saw the chairmanship race as a battle between the grassroots and the establishment.
“We’re the ones that are the strongest Trump supporters with Trump values,” she said, adding she and other new activists have already successfully infiltrated the party structure and will keep working to do so.
k
But Elizabeth Patock, another teacher, liked Patterson’s focused on bringing “non-traditional Republicans” into the party. Patock did not vote for Trump and said she dislikes how ugly national politics have become.
Patterson is the first Latina to lead the state party. She did not make her personal heritage a major piece of her campaign, but said the party needs to use “new messengers.”
And having an Anglo last name is good cover. Keep the rest on the “qt”, ok?

“Our success will be a team effort, no egos, no personal agenda, no drama,” she said.
This leaves out head feral Trumper himself and all around him.
Two female Trump-lovin’ teachers quoted. Hmmm.
We’re going to be about one thing: Whining.
Note that the GOPs miniscule share of seats in the legislature is not the result of partisan redistricting by Democrats.
This is sort of like people arguing over which crew member would wield the fire extinguisher on the Hindenburg.

More evidence, as if any more is needed, that Donald Trump is not an aberration but the true heart of the Republican Party.
So ‘majority of voters’ means nothing to the Trump Lickers that want to ‘rule’ the party…right off a cliff.
Me? I think most Trump supporters are fermented, not fervent…
The California GOP is now the party of masochists, Trump has made it pretty clear how much he hate California, and GOP activists want a tighter embrace of Trump…
hummm sounds like it was a battle between those who wanted to step back to the old ways
… and the Trumpers who are convinced that the only reason that they fell short was that there just was not enough hate, venom and hostility woven into the campaign.
like the old ‘cure’ of bleeding to reverse the course of a disease … and when the patient died - the bleeding zealots would simply say - you did not bleed him enough …
… and when the economy crashes those tax cuts for the wealthy were just not big enough…

As a California Democrat, I endorse this message.
The Tump cultists In the CA Republican party don’t realize that Trump is even less popular than the party in the state. The generic no-name Republicans on the statewide ballot in 2018 all ran 3 to 8 points ahead of Trump’s dismal 2016 performance in CA, where his vote share (31.6%) was the lowest for a Republican since 1912, when Taft was left off the ballot, though it was about the same as Alf Landon’s 31.7% share in 1936.
…or arguing about the arrangement of the deck chairs on the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.
“It’s about time we have a Republican party that stands for our values, our ideals and supports our Republican president.”
This is either a contradiction in terms or the GOP truly is the party of racism, bigotry and the embrace of our enemies.
I was hoping one of the the two total crazies would win.
“Let’s serve notice to the Democrats in California that we are back and we are ready to deliver on the Republican comeback,”
Right after you lose that orange bag of moldy circus peanuts anchor around your neck.
Her’s a clue
30% does not win elections
Yup. District lines in CA are drawn by a bipartisan commission.
The CA GOP has mystified me for a long time now. Leadership is Far crazier than the rank and file. It’s not a case like S Carolina where the voters pull Graham back to the Right. It’s more like the GOP voters in CA can’t seem to pull their leaders closer to the center.
I wonder if it’s just indolence on their part. The crazies have all the energy.
Hmmmm… look across to the East at Maryland and Massachusetts to see how a pragmatic Republican can actually connect with the electorate and govern in a blue state… or double down on the same toxic values and rhetoric that had led to the complete wipeout of the California Republican party.
I know which option I’m betting they’ll choose.
