Maybe she isn’t all that…though I am pretty sure she could hold down a morning talk show on any network and end up garnering higher ratings than Joe…but Scarborough is still very wrong regardless of how that would play out.
Because Beck left specifically with plans to start up a media empire. Kelly has no such delusions from anything I have heard. She is just looking at moving her high profile name recognition to another location…IF it will boost her annual income. In other words, she is seeing what the market could be, not looking to start her own business.
So the comparison is completely wrong. Beck also never had the size of audience that she has, nor the breadth of sponsors. Basically Beck got hired to do a really weird shtick to see what would stick against the wall. His didn’t, and once he fell off, Fox was about as done with him and he was with Fox. Kelly is a fairly traditional anchor with many years experience. I suspect MSNBC would snatch her up in a minute if they can agree on a “show formula” that is somewhere between where she is now and where say, Maddow is now…and that leaves a great deal of room.

unlike many other conservatives Kelly is smart. She plays to the Fox rubes. But she vasilates between being slightly nuts and very sane and reasonable. I would like her to have a strong core and stick with it. She is not just a pretty face.

Sure, if you want a blond who can push conservative bullshit, Kelly can lie and foam at least as well as the average Fox wingnut. I’m just not sure what the market is outside Fox News for a semi-articulate wingnut newsreader with no legitimate credentials as a real journalist (as opposed to blatant propagandist).

My favorite part of the Beck “I have a dream” fiasco was that he had someone dressed up as Thomas Paine, because Paine wrote “Common Sense.”
Still makes me chuckle to this date. I presume Beck is simply unaware of Paine’s equally famous work “The Age of Reason” and the irony of a religio-political nutbag like Beck seeing Paine as an idol.

I doubt that’s something Kelly has to imagine. My point being not that she’s talentless - that’s debatable, though I think she’s a fairly skilled interviewer at this point - but I’m sure that as an attractive woman with power, working in a politically Conservative environment, she’s already quite familiar with sexism.

right but you have to figure that snake is just going to bite or eat it before the sting works and so even if the snake died 90 seconds-5 hours later it would still technically have “won” and bets are settled as final based on in-ring (bucket) announcement, scoring error(s) notwithstanding
I invite Beck, Kelly, and JoeScar to meet in my industrial wood chipper to discuss this further.
