Of course I never said it was "hopeless, utterly, utterly hopeless". That's pure read-in on your part, and hilariously inaccurate.
My sole objection is to this:
This is not an uphill battle.
That's it. That's just hilariously complacent, and rank bullshit. Part of that complacency led to our 2016 EC defeat, which is ultimately the only forum that matters.
Hillary won 3M more votes. I don't think I need to remind you that she's not POTUS. The rules aren't going to be any different in 2020. To win the EC, we need to win states, not NPV totals, unless you prefer moral victories to actual ones. I don't.
I think it is going to be an uphill battle. So do other horrible defeatists, like Josh Marshall.
And even, in the 0.01% chance that it won't be, I prefer to speak and act as if it it is.
So I ask again: which states do we re-take in 2020? WI? MI? PA? FL? And how do we do that?
Unless you prefer moral victories.
Your complacency and arrogance are the kind of attitude that will have us losing 2020. Thankfully, most of the party, especially at the grassroots, have far better sense. This kind of complacency and arrogance is decidedly in the minority, and may it remain there.
