Discussion: Bush's Service Dog Curls Up At His Casket

That is a heart-breaker.
Not even a dog will be there for Trump

If given the chance any dog would be at Trump’s casket either lifting a leg or being in the crouch position.

There is something seriously wrong with someone who doesn’t have a pet
Like the sign at my door
If my dog doesn’t like you, chances are I won’t either.
People are saying … dogs bare their teeth when meeting Trump

I’ve had dogs but for years now I’ve been a cat person and can’t imagine living without them as I sit with my laptop with one of my cats on my lap.

Dogs and cats are lucky that Moron doesn’t have a pet.

He should have a helper monkey, though. It could be the brains of the outfit.

But the rats and snakes will all take turns stand watch, or standing guard, or pay their respects.

Flag-draped coffins were a signature feature of Bush presidencies.

He has monkeys but they’re the flying kind and seem to be in charge.

He’s a germaphobe, so it makes sense. In a creepy way

He should get a mandrill. Its butt would be prettier than him and still be twice as smart to boot.

depending on the prenup, Melania may be there.

Yeah all this talk about what a great American Bush 41 was and I still think that attacking Iraq was bullshit driven by the oil industry after we’d propped him up for so many years and all the bullshit with Iran Contra under Reagan.

And truthfully as far as the dog that looks cool but I imagine that is a stage photo. Read part of a a book on dogs, I think The Hidden Life of Dogs. In it the author(s) had lots of dogs and she said that when one died they did not to hang out around the corpse, but would hang out with each other and kind of mourn together. It’s like they knew that body wasn’t their friend. Just saying.

We are sad when our polite oligarchs pass on. He was an informed and intelligent leader who compromised when required for the nation’s good (1990 budget agreement), agreed to help those in need (Clean Air Act revisions and Americans with Disabilities Act [both 1990]) and led the West’s efforts to embrace Perestroika and normalize relations the dissolving USSR. He signed the first strategic arms reduction treaty (START I). These are good things.

He also took positions that were detrimental to LGBTQ rights, and although he did support funding for treatment for HIV and AIDS treatment, he bowed to pressure from the evangelical right in ways that were harmful to progress for human rights in our country and abroad.

He took part in criminal obstruction of justice regarding the investigation of Vice President Spiro Agnew, and seems to have completely escaped judgment for these activities.

His leadership following the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq built a working coalition of the world’s leaders. He relied on institutional mandates from the UN Security Council, and ceased hostilities earlier than many of his commanders desired. I still think this was wise. Don’t make the mistake of conflating his prosecution of Iraq’s direct threat to world stability with 43’s overreach into Iraq after 9/11.

He was a complex flawed individual. But in my opinion he did more good than harm for the nation and the world. His open and frank support for institutions of international cooperation are sorely missed at the present time.
