As a hypothetical JEB! Let’s say a “librul” justice had passed away during the last year of W’s reign of terror, would he have had the constitutional right to nominate a replacement, or would it have been up to Harry Reid? Hmmm.

“This is a very divisive time, so let me add some more divisive rhetoric to the subject,” because no one has even hinted that there is a valid reason for the Senate to refuse to carry out its constitutional obligation.

Jebya! sure seems to swallow a ton of water every time he changes his position to appeal to the GOP base.

Cuz, Obama. The lawless extra constitutional illegitimate occupier of the White House!

Wrong again Jeb!

Why do you insist on being a dumb republicant presidential candidate?

The latest CBS poll in South Carolina has Jeb! tied with both Ben Carson and the margin of error at 6%.

The window for another Bush presidency seems to be closing very quickly.

John Ellis knows about these things. Number One Stupid Brother nominated Harriet Miers and was forced to withdraw it three weeks later.

"If there is an up-or-down vote, it should be rejected based on the history of how President Obama selects judges.

Interesting approach. Here’s a different one:

There should be an up-or-down vote, and it should be decided based on the qualifications of the person that is nominated.

I got my approach from this nifty little document called the Constitution of the United States of America.

I will leave it to the reader to deduce where Bush pulled his from.

They should just cut to the chase and say that they will never allow a Democratic president to appoint a supreme court justice ever again.

Let’s see here - if Mitt Romney had been elected? So, the next question should be: Could a President Jeb! Bush nominate and expect the Senate to act in the last year of your presidency or are you going to be a three year President?

I like the growing arc of John Ellis’s answers. A few days ago indifferent, today forceful but incorrect, tomorrow, he’ll offer up someone totally unsuited, say, a former bush administration AG.

Shorter JEB!:

“The government should be run the way the Republicans want to run it. Always.”

“There should be no deference to the executive”

But shouldn’t there be deference to the Constitution? And respect for the office of the president even if your whole party hates the president because he has brown skin?
BTW, you are also showing disrespect for the majority of voters,as Obama WAS reelected by them.

Jeb, you are getting less and less serious. Face it, your only chance of being your party’s nominee is if you act like a serious, grown up candidate. You cannot beat Cruz or Trump or even baby Rubio at the outrage…But this back and forth between Mama’s boy, Grown up, and Faux tea partier is silly and you are not worthy of your father’s legacy. GHWB would NEVER have acted like this.

Let this be an important part of the election process because there’s a lot riding on this

Ah, the ‘alot riding on this’ clause…I knew if I kept reading JEB would speak JEB. It’s rare one actually observes snivelling. How low the once mighty racists have fallen…

This shouldn’t be a controversial subject. We all know if Cruz is elected President he wouldn’t nominate a replacement in February of 2020 should Justice Roberts die. Right?
