Discussion: Bush: Senate GOPers In Iran Letter Reacting To 'Bad Deal'

Discussion for article #234173

Yep, being a traitor is going to be a litmus test for the far right in the GOP primaries. Better to side with hardline Ayatollahs than support your country when the black guy is president.

Yes, but are you going to sign the letter too? Can’t fall behind the competition they’ve signed, catch up now…

What part of “there is no deal yet” doesn’t Jeb understand? Worse, does he not appreciate that this infantile letter sent by the 47 Republican Senators could likely squirrel not only a deal with Iran, but our relations with our allies? And he wants to be President???

So Jeb can I borrow your crystal ball that sees things that have yet to happen.

Any deal will meet the GOP definition of bad, because 1) Obama will support it, and 2) it won’t involve the Iranians agreeing to unilaterally dismantle their state and convert to Christianity.

What is it with these BUSH idiots? Reasonably well educated - but put them in contention for the White House and they say some of the most moronic things - 'Oh these guys were just reacting to a possible, might be, could be a bad deal when it is actually drawn up ’ ??? This stupid logic excuses the 47 numbskulls? Come on Jeb … cut the crap … you are supposed to be smarter than this !

He knows that it was not a good thing to do. He is now entering the suckup zone so he can get the party’s nomination .

Remember in the distant, dusty past – way back in 2013-2014 – when some liberals were worrying about the emergence of a new improved Republican party that rejected Obama’s militarism, drone warfare, and surveillance policies (worse than Bush!) and would prove irresistible to young voters (weed! NSA! NDAA!) and longtime Democratic stalwarts (Greenwald, Snowden, cough Rand Paul cough).

Good times.

I wonder why McConnell signed the letter. Of all people, he must have realized the blowback that would come. Could he be throwing red meat to the base on the issue so that when he capitulates to President Obama on the budget, he won’t look so bad?

So what about your reaction to your brother putting the country into war under false pretenses.

Well he couldn’t understand the umpteen neurosurgeons who diagnosed Terri Schiavo as brain dead or the umpteen judges who issued orders to pull the feeding tube and let the poor woman die with dignity. Don’t forget the monstrous religious crazy religious fanatic clusterfuck his meddling in this situation caused. So is it any surprise he has trouble getting his head around anything as delicate and complicated foreign negotiations. Obviously unfit for the Oval Office, doubtful he would even make a good dog catcher.

This is a terrible answer of Jeb Bush. Condoning senators to undermine the POTUS is beyond the pale, and we should not expect anything else from the brother of a war monger. Yes, President Obama caused these senators to commit treason by undermining the POTUS. I wonder what republicans would say about democrats doing the same to President Bush???

What the hell is his idea of a good deal, war with Iran? Maybe he subscribes to the idiocy of ‘axis of evil’ crap.

Neither Senators nor jeb Bush should insert themselves into the conduct of foreign policy. That is the prerogative of the President. The Senate advises and consents AFTERWARD. (wags finger)
