“And every meeting I had in Beijing started out for the first 10 minutes lambasting me about why it was, as an American, why it was that we insulted China.”
Um, ?JEB?!, these meetings you attended in Beijing, did they exist in the same universe in which Sarah Palin was going to have tea and crumpets with Queen Elizabeth while they discussed foreign policy, or the meetings Scott Brown held with kings and queens?
And just out of curiosity, if Michelle did attend the meeting, would you have bashed her for going on a lavish taxpayer-funded vacation?
Children. They’re all emotional children, lashing out at their parents. Bush, Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Fiorino–all rebelling against their Daddies and Mommies. How they envy Obama’s maturity and self-control!
And if (after being newly-elected, relocating their minor children, and trying to acclimate those children --and themselves-- to a new and incredibly unique situation), Mrs Obama had gone to a fancy state dinner …you would be criticizing her for abdicating her parental duties to be all glammed up.
My wife certainly would have put our kid’s schoolwork over a week in China. “You can handle it, I’m sure.” Unlike Jeb!'s feelings on the purpose of the First Lady, she will always be Mom first.
Jeb! really had to reach into the way-back machine that resides up his ass for that one-liner I see. I thought the Thugs hated looking like we care about what China thinks. Make up your mind Jeb! Either they’re eating our lunch and we won’t stand for it, or we should be kowtowing to their every wish. Can’t have it both ways moron.
I think your explanation is a better fit. Kind of like royalty … and the black man was there just to keep the seat warm. The Bush family has cost America so much blood, sweat, tears and treasure that the whole lot of them should be forced to live like paupers … never again to enjoy any of that illegally-obtained loot. Cheney, as well (and his daughters).
I was going to say its no big deal that Bush got Malia’s name wrong. It’s perfectly understandable how a guy like Bush, being unfamiliar with “Malia” could conflate it with the much more familiar “Macaca” and put them together to get Malayla.
This is the kind of asinine, “polls show” attack line that doesn’t even work for Trump, and just comes across as pathetic and awkward, especially coming from the child of a former president. What’s most pathetic is that he doesn’t even understand the GOP attack line against Michelle. Its that her “Let’s Move” campaign is hypocritical because she’s not built like Kate Moss and that she’s some kind of super diva obsessed with the glitz and glam of the WH. Basically, calling her a stay at home mom who is more concerned about her kids’ homework than glamorous state dinners abroad really misses the mark. That’s actually what Republicans claim they want her to be.
