He said it was right after Obama came into office. Michelle was probably getting the girls situated in their new school and definitely new surroundings. Perhaps if Jeb and his wife had spent as much time and effort on their children as the Obama’s do, they would have had a better result.

If a GOP’er had snubbed China he’s wear it like a badge of honor and the whole clan would laud him for it. But…the real issue here is as it always is with Jeb!. Bullshit. For those of you that have not lived within Asian culture…it don’t work like Jebbie said. The Chinese are quite cosmopolitan now and probably wouldn’t perceive Ms. Obama’s absence a snub. And if they did they’d attribute it to odd Western values and not a deliberate insult. But most important…they would not say a fucking thing. No Asian, none, would insult a person in absentia over something like that. If they were to do anything they’d take it in private with that person…ONLY that person. The family angle is so beyond the pale it needs no discussion with anyone familiar with how things go down in the East.
This did not happen. It reeks of Jeb’s unfamiliarity with the Chinese people and a desperation to portray his superiority to Obama in their eyes. I wouldn’t put it past Jeb! to instigate such a conversation ( something that would shock a Chinese person ) so that he could exaggerate it and use it for political gain in the future but I doubt any Asian would take the bait. I live in Florida. I know what a dumb ass asshole Jeb is so this does not surprise.
Lets be frank. The Chinese idolize their leaders. Shit, the deify them. Do you think Jeb’s claim possible? They’d be loath to insult the President of the USA in the presence of a prominent political figure from that country. What chance would the Chinese Chairman have with its most valuable trading partner if it pissed off the POTUS?

When Chelsea was a child, the Clintons were quite protective. She has been an adult for many years now, with a prominent role in the Clinton Foundation. I’m sure she’s happy to campaign for her mother.

I also question Jeb’s claim. I don’t recall hearing anything about this at the time, and you would think that the GOP and Fox News would have grabbed onto this and run with it back then. Also, it’s not at all clear from this story why Mrs. Obama’s presence was expected. And I very much doubt that, even if there were some truth to this story, the Chinese would view this as an insult coming from the U.S. government.
In any event, why is Jeb targeting Obama? Obama’s not running for President.

So when Michelle Obama gets involved in nutrition advocacy programs, Republicans are grunting from their cave entrances, “We no elect Michelle. She shut up and stay in White House.”
But when she doesn’t accompany the President of the United States during what would have been a purely ceremonial appearance with no tangible impact on any subtantive discussions between the U.S. and China, they’re yammering “Michelle need to appear with President and smile vacantly.”
It would be far simpler if they simply said what they really are aching to say, which is quoting Lee Atwater: “Ngger, ngger, n*gger!”
This is a sign of how desperate Bush is—he realizes he’s getting nowhere by going after Trump and Cruz, and all he can think of is to go after the black guy.

The fact that Bush went back to something that happened several years ago, with a country that the RWNJ’s anyhow want to give the cold shoulder to, shows just how hard it is to find anything legitimate to criticize.
Jebby at least stopped short of Trump, Cruz and Co., in that he didn’t just make it up. But, man, they had to work hard to find this obscure thing.
