There’s definitely a curve to Trump’s first two years on the job, but it is the flickering, dimming illumination of a slide into senility, not exactly anything I’d call “learning”.
“I credit a lot of people on the White House staff who I think told the President that he probably was making a decision that wasn’t as noble as it should be, and thankfully he recognized that and did come around,” he added.
that he’s hoping the President is on a “learning curve,”

Still trying to pretend that Trump is learning. That’s so cute!
No, no, not cute. Despicable.
When the hell does he stop getting these participation-trophy excuses for everything? When do republicans realize that there is no learning curve, this is just “the horrorshow that is our lives” ?!?
Oh, and President Obama was pilloried as a racist for calling a policeman’s stupid action stupid. In his first year, I believe. But I guess that’s way worse than pettily using the powers of office to crap on the legacy of an honored veteran. Sigh.
That ship is sinking, Card. Bail faster!
He’s just a lad of 72 who has only been in office for more than a year. He’s on a learning curve. Give him a break.
As they say, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. He’s definitely not on an upward learning curve.
Andrew Card is a partisan hack. This must be the first time he hasn’t been a complete apologist, wet noodle, or wishy-washy supporter of tRump over the vast number of tRump’s outrageous behaviors and comments.
Mark this day down on your calendar folks, because it’s not like Card will come this way again.
It’s interesting that the adults are really beginning to treat Spankee like the toddler he is by praising his tiniest little non-destructive semi-adult action.
You know, along the lines of “oh, baby, you pooped in your potty! Such a good boy!! Such a good, good boy!! We’re so proud of you!!!”
I think Senator Inhofe had the best take on it
“Well, you know, frankly, I think that John McCain is partially to blame for that because he is very outspoken. He disagreed with the President in certain areas and wasn’t too courteous about it,” Inhofe said.
If all the village idiots in the world left their villages…
And came together to form one giant village of idiots…
Trump would be their village idiot.
“He’s got to recognize, he’s the President of all the people and all of the people look to him to lead us, especially during times of strain and trouble and mourning,” he said.
Sounds like he’s borrowing from Simon and Garfunkel. He is a partisan hack.
Can’t we please send him to that village right now???
Maybe he’s being polite, or being an apologist, or both. But failing to learn, actively resisting learning, is one of Trump’s abiding lifelong characteristics. I imagine by now they do his daily briefing with pop-up books. And I doubt at this point he could pass a community-college course on basic business skills or a seventh-grade American history class.
“And came together to form one giant village of idiots…”
I think that comment reflected Inhofe’s role as pussycat of the senate. It also sounded a lot like something an abused spouse would say about her abuser.
Learning curve? Learning curve??? Donnie remains behind the starting gate and is pegged at “bat shit infantile self-absorbed.” Andy Card is such a “card.”
Ouch…Good one!
Well, they’ve tried over and over again to brief him on how NAFTA works and he still thinks he can single-handedly change any treaty if he believes its a national security issue…even though everyone has already told him NAFTA is nothing of the sorts. He’s not just thick in the head, he’s really blinded by his own stupidity. Drumpf’s daddy must’ve bribed someone and paid for the diploma tRump ended up with. There’s no other explanation other then getting kicked in the head at some point or slowly losing oxygen to the brain.
