Discussion for article #238801
Can you change the title to read: âIn newly released photos, Bush Administration officials plot ways to implicate Saddam Hussein as true villain of 9/11 attacks.â ?
Main headline from âThe Onionâ 9/11 issue:
U.S. Vows to Defeat Whoever it is Weâre at War With.
In the second picture, Mary Matalin looks horrified (whoâd a thunk she was capable of THAT?) But Cheney looksâŚnot even surprised. Iâd say his reaction contained nothing of horror.
Dick Cheney, worst American leader of all time. Worst one. Nobody else comes close.
All the photographs were taken by the vice presidentâs staff photographer.
Didnât the President have a staff photographer because all these pictures makes it look like Cheney was in charge?
Why was Lynne Cheney there at all?
Headline should read:
VP in Prez Chair at PEOC on 9/11, Plans Ways To Take Over US Government
âŚOr,
Yawning VP, Charged with Running Bureau of Propaganda as President Pro Tem Until Bushâs Return.
Condi looks like sheâs thinking they should have paid a bit more attention to that Aug. 6th PDB.
What a terrible day that was. It pains me to think of what could have been if those featured in the photos didnât go on to peddle horrifying terrible and destructive âresponsesâ to this.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
I agree. Sheâs the only person in any of these photos showing any kind of human reaction.
Mrs. Cheney was with the Vice Pres because he was about to taken to a âsecret, remote location.â I donât recall seeing Cheney in public for many months after 9/11.
Another day at the office, eh, Dick?
Ya know, I donât want to say anything heartless or cruel about that day.
But these photographs have a variety of expressions that are now frozen in time, all of which (to me, in my humble opinion) say nothing less than âoh, $%^&, now we have to actually lead. Damned SCOTUS that found for our side and not for Al Gore!â
Probably not very kind of me, but multiple people yawning and looking half asleep isnât what I wouldâve hoped for in the leadership role that day. Ya have Condi in the last picture looking bored and out of her league, Cheney yawning⌠not sure, but Mary Matalin may have the only appropriate expression of anyone there and she could still be just stifling a yawn.
Is there any record to know whether these folks were seriously on a 24-hour day from 11 - 12 September?
What, the âBin Ladin Determined To Strike in USâ Presidential Daily Briefing? That was her âOh, Shitâ moment.
Hey Josh, when are you going to let us comment on those silly faux-âstoriesâ paid for by PHRMA?
FurthermoreâŚa Roguesâ Gallery of anti-American cretins.
I can imagine what Cheney is saying to Mary Matalin: âMary, fire up the invade Iraq war machine!â
My dad died the next day and I have nothing but overwhelming sadness from all that happened on the Tuesday of 9/11 forward, compounded by my own personal grief. I sat shiva the entire week, with the TV on in the background, as the horrific events were looped endlessly and buildings continued to smolder. It was a sickening and unspeakable loss on so many levels for me. BTW, I should make clear my dad died of complications from Alzheimer. Still, all in all, it was a very difficult time.
Also, I was late to work on 9/11 cause I was glued to my TV that day as opposed to taking off to be on time for a routine staff meeting. I got chewed out by my boss who had no idea what was going on or how much impact this was having. I announced that something devastating had happened in NY when I got to the meeting. Rather than question what happened, they all acted like I shouldnât have made excuses for being late. When they hit the Pentagon after I had arrived at work, they started to take it a lot more seriously. Iâll never forget how fucked up those days were.
Oh, Iâm sorry, Mr Cheney, are you bored? Well there are family of about 3000 Americans right now who wish to hell that they were bored.
Go f**k yourself, Mr Cheney.
