Sort of a microcosm of the polar caps melting. Use this natural disaster to illustrate that outcome. Maybe have a stuffed Polar Bear or 2 left stranded on the sidewalks and front yards here and there. The odd thing is, that there is probably a warming trend at the poles.
Climate change is a hit and miss, literally polar opposite effect sort of deal. But disasters are disasters, cold-hot-dry-flooded, it makes not much difference to the ravaged.
