Discussion for article #234394
We would not have these problems if we could keep women out of the innocent gaze of men who then become tempted by their soft bodies to sin, sin, sin, when we could be solving the worldâs problems. Shameless she-devils!
This has got to be one of the dumbest ad campaigns Iâve seen promoted by a company.
Wow. Whoever approved this needs to have his/her examined.
People who are âUpForWhateverâ, and settle for Bud Light are up for âwhatever,â I guess.
Bud Light: Breakfast of boors, made by Busch, not by Coors, best disposed of in sewers.
It was an idiotic tweet and I despise Budweiser, but where does the tweet direct action specifically towards women? Is that a reasonable inference to draw?
Probably because the tweet included a picture with a bunch of women in it?
Uh, alcohol.
Youâre right itâs not RESTRICTED to assaulting women. But, again: alcohol + âpinchâ? Iâm guessing they considered âpunchâ for zero time, given Irish (Hey, Iâm Irish: punch me, and find out quick.), tho probably spent a bit more time seriously contemplating âgooseâ, concluded, well, thatâs just inviting a different kind of lawsuit than the first one, so letâs go with âpinchâ.
And alcohol just HAD to have been involved.
Why did Ahiza Garcia change the word âpeopleâ to âwomenâ and make it about women?
I would only use Bud Light to put out a camp fire but honestly, did the tweets ever ACTUALLY say pinch women? Just because it showed some women rather than some generic image of a drunk Irishman is this actually a campaign advocating sexually assaulting women? Are we really that sensitive?
FYI, pinching people who donât wear green is a looooong time St. Paddyâs âtraditionâ (started in the early 1700s) and the âup for whateverâ is the long running Bud Light ad campaign where they have this flash mob parties, (on a pirate ship, inside a mocked up real-live video game, etc)
This is a manufactured bunch of nothing.
This shit is getting worse than TMZ meets the HuffPo.
I donât think the history of either âtraditionâ has anything to do with what Budâs implying in their tweet. Theyâre encouraging people to do some pretty stupid stuff all in the name of getting drunk on St. Paddyâs Day (preferably on Bud Light) and being up for âwhateverâ. The only bigger idiot would be the one who takes Bud up on their idea.
EDIT: I do agree about it being sensationalized. On a scale of âmehâ to OMG, itâs definitely on the âmehâ side.
I think this is something of an overreaction. Not saying it is a good marketing pitch but given that they have been using it for a while and it does not have sexual connotation in how they are using it, I just do not think it is meant the way it is being taken here.
How did the Teabagger motto get attached to beer?
Agreed. Itâs always been a thing to pinch people who arenât wearing green on St. Pattyâs day. I remember doing this as a little kid. Of course, you donât go around pinching strangers, but you might go up to a friend and say, âAww youâre not wearing green, gotta give you a pinchâ. The fact that women are in the picture doesnât mean a damn thing since theyâre all wearing green. This is beyond silly.
Itâs probably the same creative force behind discussing race at Starbuckâs.
Agreed that the tweet is stupid even though it doesnât display gender bias.
Gays and horny hetero ladies can pinch their fun-time partner if he isnât up for whatever. Better get those blue pills ready.
Does that mean that the Bud brand is âwhatever?â
You mean a beer company is trying to encourage people to party and drink beer on a holiday that is often associated with drinking beer?
Those bastards.
FWIW, I donât drink Budweiser products at all.
