Discussion: Brownback Campaign: Poll Wrong Because It Was During KC Royals Game

So is his convoluted reasoning that only Royal’s fans who are Dems answer their phones during the game when the pollsters call? I live on the Missouri side of the state line, am a Dem, and a huge Royal’s fan, and there is no way I would be answering my phone with an unknown number during the game. My sister on the other hand, lives in Kansas, is a Dem, and also a huge Royal’s fan, and she wouldn’t be answering the phone to an unknown number during the game either.

I hate to tell this idiot, but the majority of the people who do answer their phones all of the time, whether they know the number or not, tend to be that older, white demographic, that in Kansas also tends to vote Republican.

Don’t get me wrong. I would love to see Brownback, Walker and Scott in the unemployment line.

Click on KS Governor '14 and look at all the October polls. Brownback is not leading.

The Royals tanked in the first game. A phone call would have been a pleasant diversion.

But seriously, that’s a Hall of Famer excuse/spin for bad poll results. What happens if they poll during Walking Dead? Zombie bias?

Yes. Here in Wichita, the Royals are just about all anyone has been talking about . . . except for politics, of course. This little tidbit, though, is just going to make people laugh.

LMAO. The Koch Brothers’ state is going to be run by a Democrat starting January. WHAT A JOKE!! The Koch’s could not even save their home state after spending in the most expensive mid term election EVER - THANKS TO THE 1 BILLION SPENT BY KOCHS AND THEIR CRONIES. Kansas has rejected the Republican nightmare of Supply Side Economics aka Voodoo Economics. At least on this issue, I give kudos to Bush Sr. BUSH SR WAS CORRECT IN CALLING IT “VOODOO ECONOMICS”.

Well, he did declare this month “Zombie Preparedness Month.”

Kansas has been decades behind the more progressive states.

There was a time back in the early '70’s when airlines had to stop liquor service in Kansas airspace to avoid run ins with the state attorney general over liquor blue laws. Vern Miller once raided an Amtrak train because alcohol was being served within the Kansas state borders.

Carrie Nation swung her ax in more than one Kansas bar on her temperance crusade. It was once said (can’t recall who) that Kansas would remain dry as long as voters could sober up enough to stumble to the polls.

Kansas will remain red as long as voters are too selfish, ignorant or apathetic to get off their collective asses and throw the bums out. True of many states.

Even if (when) things get much worse, a huge swath of our citizenry aren’t going to be looking for constructive solutions or who/what is responsible. They will be looking to lay blame.

I wish the good, thinking folks in Kansas much luck.

Do I smell desperation? Time to call in the Koch brothers and Shelly Adelson.

I don’t even have TV but I’m Royally po’d about all the lying mail ads I get from Brownback. I wonder how much of KS’ shrinking tax funds have gone to pay for those. Because I don’t even trust him to have financed his campaign honestly–he’s been dishonest about pretty much everything else! I have a land line and have gotten two phone polls.

Why becuz baseball is a sport! A real sport! A Real Umerikin Sport for Real Redblooded Murikins! Which naturally means that only pansies, pantywaists, pointy-headed pencil-necked inteelectshul weaklings and silly girls were answering their phones. You know–Democrats.

Brownback will go for a win anywhere he can. BTW, Go, Giants!

And the Royals of MO were playing that Democratic-leaning team, the San Francisco Giants. So, everything falls into place.

Brownback’s on the record as saying, literally, it’s Obama’s fault. People are angry at him and want to take a swing at someone.
