Discussion: Brown: Unlike Obama And Sen. Shaheen I Want To Beat ISIS By Securing The Border

Discussion for article #227980

Those ISIS fighters disguised as 10 year old Honduran boys are the trickiest ones to stop. Genius.

And I’m going to stop Ebola by giving everyone in Nashua a face mask.

I hear this line ā€œsecure the borderā€ over and over again from the right. It’s convenient that they rely on the three words and never explain exactly what they mean. In their ā€œsecure the borderā€ world, what would they actually do differently, how much would it cost, would they support shooting people on sight if they are seen crossing the border?

Come on Scotty, show us that you are different from all of the others ā€œsecure the borderā€ loudmouths, and tell us what you mean. I suspect the more reasonable GOP (are there any left?) would say they would do pretty much what Obama has been doing for years. Maybe that’s why they don’t say more than three words.

We gotta keep terrorists infected with Ebola from sneaking across the Mexican border and stealing American jobs!

Securing the Syria/Iraq border is a tall order. It’s just open desert for most of its length.

Huh? He meant what?

Ah, man, that’s just dumb!

So he’s an isolationist like Rand Paul.

Voters in the GOPTP don’t seem to function above the brainstem, by believing all of the crap that flows from the mouths of these candidates.

I fear our society is doomed if we keep letting the Koch brothers choose our politicians.

East Germany followed such a policy for several decades, though to keep people in, not out. Yet, people crossed even that ā€œsecureā€ border in significant numbers. There is no 100% secure border, even where the parties on one or both sides are police states. Even the Chinese-North Korean border isn’t 100% secure.

I think it’s a typo. It means lock your tenants in their apartments.

I’d ask how people this obtuse possibility hope to get elected, but then I recall there’s a whole party of them.

One thing his candidacy has shown is that voters, at least on the right, are fine with a carpetbagger who spouts ideological correctness.

Brown seems to have misunderstood Lindsay Graham to be saying, ā€œFight them here so we don’t have to fight them over there.ā€ Which would make some sort of sense if they were here.

ā€œthere is no credible intelligence to suggest that there is an active plot by [ISIS] to attempt to cross the southern border.ā€

This is the part where the GOP/Teatroll of your choice rebuts with ā€œyeah, that’s because it’s so utterly incredible that we’ve left the border completely open!!!111!!!one!!!leleventy!!!ā€

Scott Brown is such an idiot and mentally challanged persos. So does Brown know something like that clown sheriff in Texas stating ISIS members are passing through the border in Texas or these children are ISIS members and a threat. Brown is disgusting and only those with hate and dimninshed capacity would but vote for Brown a true carpetbagger.

It’s not like the GOP could offer voters something desirable to gain their support.

Cool. I want to beat ISIL by investing in renewable energy, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, and also through campaign finance reform and non-partisan redistricting.

Not sure how exactly this would help ā€˜beat’ ISIL, but I still want it to happen regardless.

This isn’t plain-old stupidity. In addition to pandering, Brown gets to hedge on ALL future acts of terror in the US. If it ever happens (even years down the road) he can say ā€œsee, I told youā€, no matter if southern border is involved or not.

We’ve seen this recently from both Romney and Palin. Of all the wacky things Palin has said, she was – oh, so smug – when Putin moved on Crimea. We’re supposed to forget that Russia was just one of hundreds of things she yacked incoherently about so many years ago.
