Goodbye, sir.
One last time…
Good stuff, thanks.
The place I used to work for had him in concert back in 2003.
My initial thought was he wouldn’t sing his old hits, or still be able to hit the high notes on “With a Little Help from My Friends.”
He did, and he did.
The outdoor show was delayed more than an hour because of rain, and he played an extra long set as thanks to the people who waited.
He killed, and I heard from our people at the time that he was really nice to work with.
Even Hip-Hop fans are quiet today…without ‘Woman to Woman’, the rap classic ‘California Love’ would not exist.
Influence across genres.
You get by with a little help from your friends.

Joe had a very unique voice and one that was instantaneously recognizable. He was a wonderful human being and never one to brag about all the good he had done for underprivileged people.
.
You are SO beautiful, Joe Cocker.
.
I saw Joe Cocker for the first time in July 1969 in Wisconsin at a three day music festival at a race track in West Allis Wisconsin. I was totally blown away. Leon Russell on piano, the Grease Band, it was one of the most powerful performances I’ve seen in my entire life.To this day. It was mezmorizing. It was like being rolled over by a steam roller. It was like having a bomb dropped on you. What an amazing talent. One of a kind for sure. RIP Joe.
I’m sick at heart hearing this news.
I saw Joe at Woodstock in '69 and I will not forget that performance.
RIP Joe
Peace to you.
Saw Joe and Leon the night Nixon announced the Cambodian invasion. They saved me, even though I knew I was going to be drafted.
When Joe was living in Santa Barbara he was a fixture on the local scene. We eventually figured out that we both were living up the San Marcos Pass. Countless late night rides up the hill, then some of the strong stuff, a Gibson Hummingbird, a a damn good dose of the blues… I have never stopped feeling the emotion and intensity of those times. These tears are for you Joe, I just don;t know how to say goodbye to such a fine and gentle human being. Thank you for everything you gave me and the world.
RIP Joe
You have been stuck in my head since woodstock. 30 minutes from where I was born which right now, seems so long long ago.
See ya when I see ya, hopefully
