Discussion: Brennan's Warning: Some Lawmakers Didn’t Get ‘Gravity’ Of Russian Meddling

Three unnamed intelligence sources told the publication that the lawmakers in question were Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and John Cornyn (R-TX), a particularly close ally of the Trump administration.

Another shot across the bow. Love it.

We’re at a point where Republicans have more in common with Putin’s thugocracy than patriotic American Democrats. And they’re very upfront about it.

Republicans have gone from demanding Russia “tear down that wall” to being willing accomplices in tearing down our values.

Republicans should be required to prove they can answer a simple question before running for office: Which comes first, your party or your country?

Very few in the current GOP could prove they put country first, because right now there is someone who at every opportunity has put Russia’s interests before the USA’s and it’s sitting in the Oval office.

FBI need to investigate Cornyn and McConnell for ties to RU intelligence and get FINCEN records to sniff out any money laundering of RU money into their campaigns.

Cornyn may just be an idiot, but McConnell doesn’t have that excuse. He’s dirty. Count on it.

Time to investigate McConnell and Cornyn finances. Maybe they have been paid off by Russia.

Of course GOP leaders downplayed Russian Meddling. Of course, they don’t really believe in America or American democracy anyway. So long as the Republicans win they are good.

That’s because gravity is junk science and just a theory.

I shit you not: that actually became an argument on the Faux News KKKomment boards under a Starnes article. Throwing Kepler at them was fun…albeit a bit like trying to get a fish to do differential equations.

This is just one more spot for that quote about a man’s salary depending on his inability to get the “gravity”
Upton Sinclair.

Oh, they get the gravity all right. They just don’t give a shit.

Brennan is wrong. GOP members of Congress get the gravity of Russian espionage to help elect Trump. The issue is they like it.

When he cynically shot down President Obama’s September, 2016 request to publicize Russian espionage to elect Trump, Senator McConnell revealed he is traitorous scum who puts party above country. McConnell doesn’t care Russia meddled.

So is this what Trump is trying cover up with his attack on McConnell and his complaint that McConnell didn’t do enough to stop the probe?

If that’s what he’s trying to do, it’s having the opposite effect. :slightly_smiling_face:

“sources told the publication that the lawmakers in question were Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and John Cornyn (R-TX)”

Maybe we should look at THEIR Russian connections, too! And that Rorabacher character from Orange county- he LUVS him some Putin!

I have no trouble imagining that the Russians have hack-obtained dirt on any number of key GOP lawmakers and officials who are now conspicuously reticent to get “gravity” of said meddling. They’re scared $hitle$$.

… the importance of gravity”…

Should that have been importance or gravity? Or was he worried some folks were floaters?

It’s either that or the Republicans are claiming that the science on Newton’s theory is not settled. Of course, if there was big money to be made selling fake weightless objects that’s exactly what they’d be saying.

Well that is one, excessively generous, interpretation of their actions.
