The whole episode is, however, a wonderful illustration of the tenuous relationship between Trump and objective truth. This is someone who lies about the big stuff in order to feed red meat to his followers, but who also lies about little stuff, when there’s nothing to be gained by doing so. That’s the sign of truly pathological lying - lying just for hell of it.
And his staff does the same. Lewandowski could have said that he was sorry, that he thought someone was being too aggressive about getting close to his boss, etc., etc., and it all would have blown over in about three hours. But no…

Many years ago an obnoxious twerp of a colleague said something stupid about my supervisor, whom I respected, and I defended her. He got all freaked out about repercussions but I told him I accepted his apology and it would go no further.
But he didn’t trust me. And he made a big pre-emptive strike in this weird e-mail to the whole staff. My memories of the incident were asked for and eventually he got fired. Lesson learned: Untrustworthy people typically don’t trust others, because they’re weasels. They don’t really believe that anyone can be trusted or dealt with in a straightforward way. It’s mostly their problem until they start damaging other people, organizations, and entire countries. Then it’s everyone’s problem. Oh, and fuck you, Corey, you lying POS.

My favorite Ben Shapiro moment was when he wrote a scathing review of Steven Spielberg’s Munich for TownHall. It was a really fierce and hard-hitting critique of “liberal Hollywood.” Light on details, but full of disdain for Spielberg and his propaganda film. Light on details but not pulling any punches. Light on details but unwavering in its scathing criticism.
Why so light on details though?
Oh yeah, it turns out the twerp never saw the film before penning the review.
Oops.
But that didn’t stop him from being full of right-wing outrage about it.

Michelle Fields’ “reputation” was trashed the instant she decided to be somebody. After getting fired by Tucker Carlson for incompetence and getting owned by Matt Damon on her own YouTube “news channel,” what she laughingly describes as her “career” was already over. Want to rehabilitate your “reputation?” Learn something about economics or history or politics or sociology instead of incessantly parroting the right-wing talking points that make up your entire ideology.
