At last we know that there is some sanity, rationality, and compassion in at least one Southern state.

I guess elections really do make a difference. Good on the VA Senate for doing the right thing.

I’ve long felt that Obama’s big contribution will be that he demonstrated that gov’t can do big things to help people. He didn’t get the credit for that as President, but we’ve been seeing it in this election cycle. The Democratic share of the white vote has increased primarily because of this health care issue. It’s the reason we’re going to win control of Congress. This huge win by Gov. Northam and the Dems in the HOD is another strong signal that there is a big payoff for voting Dem.

Good for them. I guess that last election put the fear into some of those Republicans. Whatever it takes.

That’s a few thousand fewer dead poor people in Virginia. I hope they know whom to thank with their votes.

Virginia state Republicans see the 2019 off-year elections handwriting on the wall.

“What CEO is going to move a factory or facility to Lee County knowing
full well that if their workers get sick, the closest hospital might be
75 miles away in West Virginia, where they already expanded Medicaid?
And think of all the businesses that rely on a hospital, that get harmed
when it closes. So it makes economic as well as moral sense to expand
Medicaid.”

I’ll tell you what CEO: none
same argument when desperate politicians say we can’t tax a corporation in our state or they wont’ settle here. In thinking of non-shipping business locations CEO’s care about 2 things: Talented workforce, and decent amenities near by for themselves, that’s it.

George Washington would be proud of you Va.

What more needs to be said.

Golly.
One would begin to think the “liburul-baiting” engaged in my the Reich Propaganda Ministry isn’t working like it used to?
“This is a Liberal Idea!” is no longer condemnatory.
And “This isn’t conservative,” doesn’t help the cause.

Four Republicans joined every Senate Democrat

WTF?

Santorum and the Koch’s, or maybe Murder Inc.
Why are your kind against abortion when you are willing to let people suffer and die when it can be prevented?

[Obama having demonstrated that gov’t can do big things to help people] is the reason we’re going to win control of Congress.

So, first, let’s not count our chickens.

But also: I assume that if we win, it’ll be because Dem voters have been mobilized by the daily horror show that is Trump’s unified government. The incompetence, the corruption, the literal treason, all conducted brazenly on the international stage.

If we win, I’d say health care is a big reason why. That is driven by the fear of GOP efforts to repeal the ACA. A significant part of the voter base supporting Democrats in this election cycle is primarily motivated by health care.

Exactly. And it will be fantastic if the Trumpers keep sending Santorum out to make their case. A former senator from PA who lost his reelection bid is totally credible, you understand.

Look for logical consistency elsewhere. What I really find galling is how these fornicators (how many of these anti-abortion/abstinence idiots were virgins before they married?) are simultaneously opposed to access to birth control. And they add to their cruel formulations opposition to S-Chip, direct child care subsidies, family and maternity leave and adequate funding for public education.

Good for you Virginia! I can only hope Florida Governor Prick Snot is watching.
