Discussion for article #237845
Congratulations Mr. President.
From Scalia’s dissent: “We should start calling this law SCOTUScare.”
Oh, grow up. Act like you are on the Supreme Court or something…
Fantastic news to wake up to.
Republicans are thinking the same thing – now they have something to continue to vow to repeal, and can continue to have no alternate plan.
Oh, that must have smarted!
#Congratulations American People!!
Right before the decision was made, I hope RBG glared at Scalia while cracking her knuckles.
6-3 is what I thought it would be. The 3 dissenters were/are clearly politically motivated. Scalia doesn’t even try to hide it.
YAY! Great news!
Congratulations President Obama!
And for the gop/bags, go suck it!
I’'m waiting for somebody in the media to say “I mean…” Remember how they got the Obamacare decision wrong at first?
Victories on FHA and Obamacare! Good times!
Now if we can get Obergefell tomorrow or Monday, it’s the Triple Crown!
I’m shocked because I expected the court to rule 5-4 to kill the subsidies. But I guess Wall Street got to Roberts and Kennedy.
Fantastic news! Now if they rule for marriage equality as well!
Or Reince Priebus.
Obama cleans the GOP clock again!
this was a ridiculous argument to begin with and the 3 dissenters may need some Ambien tonight.
But in cases like this, we can all be satisfied and entertained by his insufferable whinging.
That one was surprising…pleasantly…
Very, very gratifying. Now if we could get the legislative branch to do its job occasionally we’d have a semblance of a functioning government. Would be nice (sigh).
I’ve thought from the beginning that they’d uphold the subsidies. The argument was just too freakin’ stupid. They were basically trying to interpret the intent of the framers of a law that is only five years old, the intent of framers of which 99% are still alive to tell you their intent. That was a bag of bullshit too heavy for even Stevens to carry.
Was always going to be this way. Everyone got all worked up, but Roberts isn’t stupid. He does have some concern that the Court will look foolish when they make totally partisan decisions.
