Discussion: Breaking: Obama Admin Offers Hobby Lobby Workaround On Birth Control
We want control of the vagina in our work place.
Actually they want control of it outside of the workplace too. After all, MY religion dictates your every action, you if you work for me. it’s only fair.

I’m not even gonna read what it is. I already know what their answer will be.

One of the many insane things about this is that providing birth control costs the insurers MUCH LESS than covering child birth. It’s a simple comparison of the cost of birth control vs. the cost of the increased number of childbirths that happen without it.

So it seems to me that either the people complaining about being forced to “pay” for contraception are denying reality or they are lying about their real concern. Or maybe both. But at least this accommodation may more clearly expose their real reason: they simply don’t want women to use birth control. There’s nothing wrong with that view until you try to impose it on others, as they are doing.

" religious conservatives may not be satisfied with the new rule"

Gee, ya think?

Or maybe it’s a sign that organizations whose primary purpose is to extract money from religious conservatives are not “satisfied”.

They don’t want women to be sexually autonomous, and see pregnancy as a form of divine punishment for having the audacity to enjoy sex.

I don’t think the RATS on the Supreme Court touched the issue of Viagra and erectile dysfunction drugs for priests did it?

When is somebody going to point out the hypocrisy of Hobby Lobby? Most of their merchandise is from China, a country where birth control and abortion is government mandated. I guess it doesn’t offend their deeply held religious beliefs if it turns a profit.

In the meantime, I propose vasectomies for every screaming male protester at women’s’ health clinics.

Hobby Lobby will say it’s “Not good enough”
They MUST punish the SLUTS in the name of JESUS.
Just like Jesus did with Mary Magdalene and…oh, wait.

Yeah. Suck on that…phony ass bible-thumping theocrats. It still won’t stop Hobby Lobby from investing in companies that are highly profitable making birth control. But who cares…

I just worry a Republican President in the future will change the rules and order HHS to turn down individual requests from these employers for birth control from these same companies, if it isn’t put permanently into law. Still, its progress. I dare any potential candidate to run against these new rules.

Hey Santorum, Huckafuck, Gov. Oops and Gov. Crispy Creme…just try it…I dare ya.

And women demanding (Not “asking”, not “begging”, not even “entreating”… DEMANDING!) to have control over their own bodies! The NERVE! The next thing you know, they’ll want The Vote, and equal pay for equal work…

What’s that?

They WHAT?!?

I think it has something to do with that rib of Adam thing…and the temptress with that enticing juicy apple.
Lilith, Adam’s supposed first wife, would never stand for that kind of chauvinistic bullshit. That’s why she’s been written out of biblical “history”…Woman gets too uppity, which leads to reclassifying her as a demon. Some things never change.

Not to worry, folks. The Religious Right nutbags will come up with some other reason to bitch because it really isn’t about religion, it’s about the Evil Socialist Kenyan and not letting him get his way on anything, if they can help it.

Yep. As predictable as the weather.

Oh, wait…

I guess we’re gonna be needing some new similes…

“…while respecting religious considerations…”

More than they deserve, since they’re simply opting-out of social responsibility.

This should be a no brainer. Women should have control over their own bodies and their employers and the government should have NO say!

If Hobby Lobby wants to offer their employees religion based healthcare coverage, I say they should be free to do so. However, they should not be allowed to deduct the healthcare premiums from their taxes. Why should tax payers foot the bill for their private beliefs? Especially, when it will cost additional tax payer money to provide complete coverage?

Further more, it is my sincerely held belief that Hobby Lobby doesn’t give a rat’s fuck about abortion or birth control. They never had a problem with their insurance covering these “baby killing” forms of birth control before. Hmmm… what has come along in the last couple of years that would change their minds and get them all spun up about something they paid no attention to before…? I’ll give you a hint: its initials are A.C.A. They just want to piss on Obama.

The point is that Hobby Lobby already won the case. Didn’t the nuns win their case over objecting to filling out the form as well, or is it still pending.

If it truly reduces the cost, and the administration has the power to make the companies provide it directly to customer on the fly, why not just take away issue. Make all the companies provide birth control whenever an insured requests it regardless of what the employer does and does not do.

It seems to be such a brain dead easy work-around, that it makes me think that it must be more difficult than it that if they are not doing it.

I don’t see it that way. Plucky may be right in that the only reason that they are fighting it at all is that Obama is the President who did it. They may not want women specifically to use birth control, they can want or not want whatever they wish, but that isn’t the issue. The issue is that they can’t be forced to provide it. Their logic is correct on this and they won their case in court.

So why are we still trying to force them to take action in order for anyone to get it? Just take the issue away altogether.
