Discussion: BREAKING: New Trump Executive Orders Target Federal Worker Protections

These rules can be fixed when a Democrat is in office. But, until then, we’re going to lose a lot of talented, experienced people from a lot of important federal jobs.

Do these changes apply to political appointees and managers, too?

Lots of smoke, considering there’s only one federal worker that Fat Nixon desperately wants to fire. I don’t want to mention names, but his initials are Robert S. Mueller III.

Guess who works for the federal gov’t. Guess.

Yep.

Lots of THEM.

Guess who THEM tends to vote for.

Yep.

DEMS.

So yes, this serves a dual purpose: they will now begin The Purge, targeting “suspected Democrats” (yes, that’s a euphemism) for false bad reviews and harassment that runs them out of their jobs.

Day of the White Knives?

From a clown who never had to worry about a performance review in his life. A person who failed upward his whole life. That makes this particularly disgusting.

As if we didn’t know – Trump wasn’t ever going to drain the Swamp, he just wants to own it. Deep State too. And anything else not locked up, nailed down, or out of the reach of his stubby little fingers.

C’mon now, this is all part of MAGA. How can he be Andrew Jackson if he can’t fill up federal offices with loons, cranks, idiots, and thieves based solely on loyalty to him personally? He won, dammit! Those spoils are rightfully his! It is very, very, very unfair that this very unfair civil service system is unfairly depriving him of them.

Trump and the GOP desperately want a green light to destroy as many government agencies, work forces, departments as fast as possible. The more people they can fire for the most flimsy reasons, the better it will be in their sick minds. The repugnant Tom Delay darkly dreamed of “drowning the government in the bathtub”. What sort of bastards think like that? Miscreants all.

Managers would be affected by these moves.

Shorter Trump: we are gradually killing unions since they usually support Democrats.

One wonders if these MAGA goobers comprehend Trump hates them all, and wants to either fire them or pay them peanuts with no benefits and zero pensions?

Encourage federal agencies to terminate poor performers rather than suspending them.

Direct federal agencies to renegotiate their union contracts, and make those contracts publicly available online “so American people can see them.”

Severely restrict the use of federal worker unions’ “official time” — which elected shop stewards currently use to mediate workplace grievances. Going forward, federal workers can spend no more that 25 percent of their time on union or other non-agency business

and just like that, I have a new incentive to finish my degree.

I don’t know what was the percentage, but unions backed ‘45’ in '16.

Now it’s likely different for government unions, but '16 was a weird year.

The whole term will be trying to shovel up Trump scat. All the while, the GOPers will be hollering about ‘the crushing national debt being passed onto our children," and “apologizing for America” all over the globe, and s#!t like that, and they’ll sweep back into power because the voters forget soooooooooo friggin’ quickly.

That old canard was rendered obsolete to all but the most credulous Trump folllowers by the tax scam. At least I hope so.
