Barrack and Trump have drifted apart in recent months. He still goes to bat for his billionaire buddies like Steve Wynn and the RNC, but Trump is so far gone he’s been more wary of late.
Mueller: “red line? I don’t see any red line.”
I was wondering when Mueller was going to get around to him. In Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury” he plays a significant role in Donnie’s life.
It will be interesting to see if Barrack talks about this. Hard for people like this to interview and obfuscate when they do not know what Mueller already knows, but do know that he is not afraid to charge people with lying to a fed. officer.
kind / humble / friend / respect / Trump
One of these words does not belong in the company of the others. Which is it?
Barrack spoke glowingly of Trump…
“He’s one of the kindest, and actually most humble, friends that I’ve had.”
So this guy’s already perjured himself?
As Josh M. has pointed out in his editor’s notes, Barrack is the go-between who brought Manafort to the Trump campaign. The explanation for this has always been sketchy ([here's the NYT write-up][1] on it from spring 2017). Additionally, Barrack loaned Manafort significant amounts of money over the years and hired Rick Gates after the campaign, up until he was indicted. He also played a large role in the inauguration, where a lot of money was donated for festivities but didn’t end up getting spent.
So I’m sure there were some interesting questions asked.
Either the guy has always been dirty, or like everyone else who has ever dealt with Trump, he is about to find himself dipped in shit.
You and @punaise kind / humble / friend / respect / have said what I was still trying to put into a sentence.
Or maybe he is more like a bull with regard to red?
“This is a guy who runs one of the best female-oriented operations in the world – 40 percent of his executive force are women, two of his past presidents are women.”
This defense is just like what so many sexual assaulters. He had a female oriented operation, and it was great for them. Harvey W. had a lot of females working for him too, and it wasn’t so great for them
Or maybe he just has a really sarcastic sense of humour?
And Plantation owners.
Interesting. Did the Manafort indictment reference any financial transactions prior to June 2008? Did the statute of limitations come into play?
Barrack spoke glowingly of Trump in a CNBC interview in early 2016.
“He’s one of the kindest, and actually most humble, friends that I’ve had,” Barrack said.
When he said “humble” the word he was looking for was “ignorant”.
And any guesses on when this Barrack interview with the Mueller team took place?
Barrack is probably a friend of Putin, too.
I don’t know. We don’t know who else he spends time with.
