I sure as hell hope there are no more inclines on this Roller Coaster.
McCain says ā€œI canā€™t vote for it in good conscienceā€, sending Republicans across the country scrambling for dictionaries.

The most important sections of the capitalist class and its political representatives in the states came out against it ā€“ and McCain got the message.

Maybe heā€™s trying to save his colleagues and himself from another full week of embarrassment. Kaiser and Brookings and next week, the CBO, have put the numbers out and the WH has admitted that it does not know what the bill will do. The GOP is in for another brutal week.

If he would have voted for this one it would have meant the last time he was just grandstandingā€¦

not that he has ever done that before.

I so hope you are out of a job by 2018 you useless piece of shit.

They probably also ought to read Article I, section 8 of the Constitution ā€“ ā€˜all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.ā€™ Clearly the carve out for Alaska and Montana were what the founders sought to prevent.

Hey, baby steps. They have to have the dictionary presented to them with pictures. There arenā€™t any pictures of Button Gwinnett.

While yes, this is a good thing and probably kills the bill, we still have the problem that the vast majority of Congressional Republicans were prepared to vote for a bill that in every way possible made things worse. How the hell did we get here?

They made up for it, however, with the Electoral College, which since 2000 has done more to undermine our nation than anything else one could care to name.

I think he is negotiating. For what I donā€™t know, but I can see the GOP scrambling to give him something for his vote.

This is amazing. I for sure thought they had figured out how to get McCain to vote for it by making sure one of the sponsors was his best buddy Lindsay. Once again, I am finding myself grateful to John McCain. I hope he sticks with this and doesnā€™t change his mind!

Also, I find it hard to believe Murkowski would vote for this even though she hasnā€™t said anything yet. Not after having been applauded by her grateful constituents after her last ā€˜noā€™ vote. So even if Rand is just posturing and ends up as a yes, I have hope that Murkowski will stay strong and come out as a no.

ā€œHis opposition is a major setback, if not full-on death sentence, for the legislation.ā€

Weā€™re still not going to see regular order until the Dems are back in charge, but this is a very nice development.
