Discussion for article #227883

That should be the end of it then as it is illegal to send different ballots to different voters.

how could any SOS demand a party put someone on the ballot? Is Kansas and the gop the new Commies?

Further litigation? The Kansas Supreme Court has already decided.

That sound you hear, is a nail being driven into Roberts’ coffin.

Hope Orman caucuses with the Dems.

Kobach looks quite fetching with egg all over his face.

Man oh man!
The Kochs will be pissed.
Can’t even buy the vote in their home state anymore.

The SOS ordered that military ballots be bundled together and unopened until resolution of the litigation (asking the court to order that the Dems put up another candidate).

Does the SOS really want that result? Is the SOS really going to allow a scenario where he would NOT count the military ballots because they don’t include a Dem.

In the game of chess, the SOS has been seriously outplayed. Edited to add - Kobach is up for reelection - so he has to watch out for his race too. Going overboard on the Senate race could backfire on him in the SOS race.

But what I think I learned this morning-- is that once those ballots are printed-- that is THE official ballot.
It cannot be edited or replaced.
And all other ballots printed subsequently must be identical.

These are interesting times. Pass the popcorn, please.

I don’t understand the rationale that states that party has to field a candidate for any particular office. What if they don’t want the job?

I always enjoy watching these types of successful businessmen enjoying their return on investment. They certainly know how to get something for their money.

I wonder where in the Constitution it says that government can compel a private organization to field a candidate in an election? Hmmm… Wanna tell us that Kris’ “Kansas’ First Dictator” Kobach?

There is no rationale.

It’s just Republican desperation and fear.
