If you want a real lesson on Brazilian politics and this situation try the Intercept. It’s front page has A Glen Greenwald bit that is spot on when it comes to all things Brazil and this affair. In short, Rousseff’s party is no more corrupt than any other in Brazil. But it leans left so the wealthy ( predominately white ) folks want it out of power. That can’t be done democratically in a country where voting is compulsory and vast swaths of the population is dirt poor. So, the media entirely owned by the rich goes to work., If you think you’ve seen serious media distortion of political events here in America try the South American variant…it’s unbelievable.
They’ll can her and jail Lula too. A government that leans right and favors the rich, corrupt as well, will result. That’s a big deal. It’s ramifications will be felt in the USA and the entire world.
Note to self:
Putsch — a sudden, planned attempt to overthrow a government illegally or by force.
