EDIT–Attendance figures from the BSA show Trump was --shock!-- lying. “Over 30,000” for this year vs. 50,000-plus in the 1950s and 40,000-plus in the 1990s.
Trump is pathetic, and what his pathetic psychopathology says about the voters who still love him is horrifying. I’d hate to be any of their wives – or husbands. And I fear their children are doomed to inbred ignorance and boorishness.
I guess he won’t be getting that merit badge for good citizenship. Rather sad when you’re the president.
Speaking in their defense, there are countless adult children, friends, and other relatives who are horrified by the fact their older, elderly parents spend hours in front of their TVs nursing on the teats of Fox Cable News.

This guy really is the lowest of the low.
While Trump is a habitual liar, I wouldn´t dismiss out of hand that someone from the Scouts called to thank him. It´s SOP to call and thank a guest, I´m sure, and a call might have been made before the Scouts heat for the ugly speech. And besides, the Scouts are no doubt chockablock with conservative twits.
OTOH, ¨The Greatest Speech EVER¨ is pure Trump self-puffery.
Memo to the Boy scouts of America:
Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States of America, is dishonest, doesn’t tell the truth, and that thank you call you were looking into to, was another of his lies.
Please understand, Donald J. Trump is no Boy Scout.
My concern is for the young whose minds are still being molded by parents who approve of a lying bully who grievously disrespects women, people of color, people with breeding and intelligence, other countries, the world community, science, Mother Earth… Adults who are horrified by their drooling parents are not my concern.
