Discussion: Border Wall GoFundMe Campaign Celebrates First Mile, Asks For More Money

Why the hell is Trump asking taxpayers to finance his Border Wall when Bannon is building his own? Let Putin and Trump’s suckers pay for it.

So how many landowners along the border are Republican and are willing to participate in this scam?

Don’t stand too near that wall. It’s liable to fall on you.

P.T. Barnum couldn’t do better than Flim Flam Trump.

I believe it’s a mistake to do this outside of the appropriations process. We have elected representatives who are supposed to be making these sorts of decisions on our behalf as citizens. Not sure I like the idea of a bunch of private citizens making decisions on public policy on their own terms -though if it’s private property, I suppose they can do as they will. But then, I’m not sure why they’re offering it to the government for one dollar.

So close to the mountainside, should be easy to run some longer walkways at a gentle slope from the hillside to the top of the wall, and a nice little ladder down the side.

Being a grifter seems to be a very profitable career choice. No wonder, I suppose, that so many choose to follow it.

It is probably fine as long as you don’t try to climb it, or there isn’t too stiff a breeze.

When selecting marks appropriately.

Curse of my life that I selected you fucking liberals to work mine. Way too smart and you keep your hands on your wallets at all times.

Go Fund should have shut this down, but cause being a con artist is a protected First Amendment right in this era, congressional involvement is likely inevitable.

Another Go Fund Me? Whatsamatta Brian, didn’t the million dollar yacht you bought with the last scam fund not come with flotation vests?

I wonder where this thing actually is relative to the real border. Based on the pictures it seems hard to believe it is right on the border. What was there before? Nothing? Anyone have any info/insight on this?

Prolly Trump fealty, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is (hidden) ‘sticker shock’.

Hope the marketing department has enough for color brochures with maps that show where this Miracle Mile of wall is.

Perhaps this is just a ploy to build up infrastructure for the annual Village Idiot’s Convention.

Still in Santa FĂ©. I can highly recommend Iconik Coffee Roasters.

Also, looks like an international fad in the making.

The Mexican Traffickers Association (MTA) already has it on their maps. Just look for the “LOL” and you’re there.

Non-snark answer (although I do love my snark) would be liability issues. Private people have that annoying thing that happens where when someone is injured or killed on their property because of their property, could be some big lawsuits coming out of it.

Particularly with an 18-foot steel wall that’s liable to blow over in the first breeze, these dudes don’t want any liability exposure. Would cut into profits from the grift.

Tourist attraction. The MAGA cap concession there will rake in the dough. Actors will portray “illegals” who, for a fee, the MAGAts can “arrest” for a nice photo. Lifesize cardboard cutout of PP for selfies.

No, probably nowhere near a real border.
