This is a case of a minor official (a city mayor), trying to make a grandiose, but stupid statement, to endear him to the liberals. None of your business, Bill. Stay home.
And what biz it of yours to tell the Mayor what his is? That is the AMERICAN border with Mexico. What goes down there is the business of all Americans. How do you justify “minor official” when that person is the Mayor of America’s largest city and perhaps the greatest city on earth. NYC is home to a huge immigrant population and many came across that border.

Truth be told, I have nothing against her. I just don’t think she would do well in this environment. I don’t hold her Franken comments against her because I believe it was a Senate decision as a whole to see Franken out of the exclusive club because he broke the Senate rules by going after Sessions in public. Sessions was a senior Southern Senator. Goes against what is accepted in that club.

Politicians with big aspirations do stuff - but the article says that 20 mayors were on this trip. Shouldn’t the story be that 20 US mayors crossed the border illegally?
The border patrol is a quasi-fascist organization, and like the SCOTUS and the Republican party, they aren’t just against Democrats they are against democracy. I had some personal dealings with these guys a few years ago and they are a law unto themselves - due process DOES NOT EXIST at our borders and hasn’t since 9/11.

Well, I still hold a grudge against her. She started the piling on, and denied Franken an investigation that he willingly proposed. She is not someone I respect.
It is fine with me if you like her now, but BonVivant is entitled to an honest opinion (and so am I). The GOP doesn’t drum good senators out of office like that. What they do is back them up regardless of what they do, and don’t bother with investigations. We should have let Senator Franken have his say, and his accusers their’s…under oath, of course.
