she’s “extremely offended” that anyone would call the migrant detention centers at the southern border “concentration camps.”

Noting that while historial concentration camps deliberately tried to kill their inmates, the migrant detention centers overseen on the border do so only by incompetence or negligence.

It is only a couple of steps from the manner in which the people in these camps are being treated to the “final solution” and I doubt you can see that or would do anything to stop it.

“Provost claimed that her agents are ‘doing the best that they can’ and that they were doing things like ‘feeding babies’…”

“…that we ripped from their mothers’ breasts…”

“…and put in dogcages…”

“…before deporting their parents…”

“…seven of which have died…”

“…so far…”

It’s Summer break and kids need supervision while their parents are at work.

Since tRump supporters think so highly of them, let’s start a gofundme to send their kids to these wonderful holiday camps.

Let’s ask the opinion of people that were previously sent to concentration camps:

“They are doing–going above and beyond, day in and day out, to try to care for these individuals to the best of their ability, and this is not what they were trained or signed up for to do,” Provost said. “So I am extremely offended by those comments.”

Correct answer too, in the USA.

She should be.offended. They have a long way to go to approach the panache and comfort of a concentration camp.

I hate to interrupt the righteous pile-on here, but I’d like to hear what any of you think the CBP people should do about this situation. Before you answer, some conditions…

Your answer can’t involve acquiring any more personnel. They’re having trouble filling the vacancies they’ve got, and they can’t do something like boosting salaries.

Your answer can’t involve constructing any new facilities, or contracting out for them. You can’t spend money that hasn’t been appropriated.

Your answer can’t involve returning to the status quo ante, in which immigrants were routinely cut loose while their asylum claims were processed. Because of the current Trump policies, these folks would be summarily canned if they did that.

Yes, what we’re doing to these people is appalling. But let’s put the blame where it belongs. Maybe the people on the front lines are simply overwhelmed.

So don’t whine about it to those that are trying to end it.

Complain about it to those that are telling you to do it.

Or fucking quit.

Yes, I’m sure that would solve the problem instantly.

These people are witnessing and, willingly or not, aiding in human rights violations that the government is trying to cover up.

Are they “Good Americans”?

At the risk of repeating a post from yesterday:

concentration camp: “a place where large numbers of people are kept as prisoners in extremely bad conditions, especially for political reasons”

Need we say more?
