as pious practicing Catholic, and in keeping with the spirit of Jeebus, I will teach you to fish for health insurance instead of providing it…
These guys need to rounded up and dropped on some island in the middle of nowhere.
That way they can have it all anyway they want it. Just don’t forget to leave a box of vouchers so they have negotiating powers between them.
Ryan mooched of the system his whole life and now he thinks he is the system with heartfelt hate running through his body.
momma must have beat him up a lot.
HA! Perfect. Hypocrites like Ryan make me sick to my stomach. And, to have the gall to just act like his brand of policy is totally normal and humane is beyond the pale. I really hope he gets a boil on his fanny - requiring an emergency room visit. The nurses can fix him right up.
This, is what they wanted anyway. The failure of Medicare will give them reason to pull the plug and make everything private.
Ryan’s office and the Energy and Commerce Committee referred questions to the Ways and Means Committee.
A spokesperson at Ways and Means did not immediately respond Thursday to TPM’s request for comment.
Questions about this issue are not the kind we are comfortable answering at this time. We have not yet constructed a lie that can push the blame onto Obamacare.
“In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”
— Ronald Reagan, Inaugural Address, January 20, 1981
The GOP plan for everything:
- Claim the system doesn’t work.
- Cripple the system.
- When it can’t work, claim victory.
Thank you, Saint Ronnie. Your twisted dreams are coming true.
I have a feeling this will pass the House, not sure about the Senate. I don’t think and Dems (thankfully) will vote for this but, I think all the Repubs will fall in line. The question is if they try to steal the Senate and give themselves total control by going with 51 votes instead of 60.
These people are shady as shit, I wouldn’t put anything past them.
On the bright side, the idiots should start to feel the reality of life after Obamacare right around Mid-Terms.
I assume depleting the Medicare trust fund is intentional, to start setting things up to trash Medicare once the ACA is destroyed.
Umm…Excuse me headline writer…GOP Obamacare?
I thought we were going with Trumpcare or better yet, TrumpDonTCare, but of course if we’re really being honest, SHITTYcare is more like it.
Isn’t it just like Republicans to figure a way to spend whatever savings the Democrats have made in previous years shoring up the safety net, and waste it on their phantasmagorical ideology? This is what Going Galt looks like. Just ask RAyn. Someone needs to tether these people to reality. The lies they tell about the ACA has only gotten worse.
Time for some loving kindness metta - May all beings be happy - May all beings be safe - May all beings be healthy - May all beings live with ease, without exception — It is that without exception that I am struggling with.
When is Pauly the Rectum going to get rid of Auto insurance ??
Did anyone else catch Colbert last night. He play a clip from Ryan’s press conference yesterday where he said the problem with Obamacare was a lot of healthy people were expected to help pay for a few sick people. Colbert pointed out the obvious, Ryan’s comment describes insurance perfectly.
4: Free-market anarchy and the ultimate destruction of our republic as Trump and maybe 5 other people laugh atop their piles of cash as Paul Ryan fetches the Scotch.
I said this exact thing last night regarding the bill. I don’t think there’s a bright side though. The Senate is safe for them in the mid terms. They may lose 1 seat in Nevada, but that’s about it. Dems could lose PA and W.VA min.
Well what a fucking surprise… the ultimate goal of the Cold-Eyed Granny Starver becomes obvious. To the Republican Party, killing Medicare is a feature, not a bug—they’ve been clamoring to kill it from the time LBJ signed the legislation, because it’s unacceptable to them that American seniors not die in penury and privation.
I wonder if the Democratic Party itself will mount any kind of organized, coordinated, consistent, and loud opposition, or will resort to its customary practice of letting other groups do the heavy organizational lifting.
Every night I think I can’t despise these bastards any more.
Every morning they prove me wrong.
These white folks love their racism, no matter what it costs.
Maybe they might try hiring a marketing firm.
This crowd couldn’t sell water in the desert.
