Ok, I clear my history and cookies. :yum:

Describe ā€œwinā€.

Kinda odd that the guy who can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, or bother to read even one briefing paper, or talk to his national intelligence counsel for input, has coughed up every tweet of distraction he can think of in the past week as Mueller’s investigation has picked up steam, and indicted more Russians than you can shake a stick at.

Another week where we’re gonna see an unhinged tRump continue to decompensate further in front of our eyes. Too bad unrealized self-loathing can be such a bitch for the rest of us.

When are the Goopers gonna realize trump is unfit for office? My gawd, what the fuck will it take?

I’m guessing this may end with another ā€œhistoricā€ summit in a few months, in which Iran plays the Orange Terror for newfound legitimacy and gives away nothing. I mean, that or the most foolish war since ever.

Also, Manafort’s trial begins this week.

internal politics wont allow for that. My money is that we just move onto the next news story and nothing happens.

Isn’t this another one of the things on Donnie’s to-do list from the Helsinki humiliation summit?

Driving Iran further into Putin’s orbit does seem to fit the bill.

You may well be correct. But then again, I never thought internal politics would allow for a face-to-face meeting with Kim Jong Un or capitulation to Russia.

The real author of the tweet steps forward. Pro tip, Bolton: when impersonating @real2Scoops, you have to throw in a few misspellings. Also, caps should be completely random.

by internal i was referring to Iran’s politics.

I don’t understand the special animus towards Iran…it’s arguably a more open place than the Sunni ME countries, in that women attend university, drive, etc. My former Foreign Service friend here visited a few years ago and found that Iranians generally like Americans, despite the leadership’s anti-American fulminations. And you can certainly argue that the Sunni Muslim countries, Saudi Arabia in particular, have done much more harm to the US–to wit, the 9-11 hijackers and Bin Laden-- in recent years than Iran…

Ah, okay! A different kettle of fish indeed.

What would be something the Iranians might do that would be considered ā€˜negative’, Mr. Bolt-on?

ā€œWell, for starters they could cut off the flow of Islamic Revolutionary Guard funds to that beautiful hotel project in Baku. If they do anything to make Ivankatoinette cry there will be hell to pay!ā€

What consequences? A summit with a coin minted to brag about it?

Trump : … THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES!!!

Ron Howard : there were no consequences

While agreeing with your overarching point that this is the wrong approach because it produces the exact opposite reaction from what we want, I would argue it is because this statement isn’t true. I would argue you can expect a Persian to react to a threat like a Texan or Connecticutian in that they would all react negatively to the threat and it will alienate even those who might be sympathetic to ones goals. It is why taking ā€œdo what I say or I’ll destroy youā€ is a stupid negotiating position in this situation, that sort of heavy handed approach will get even reasonable peoples backs up such that they become less willing to listen.

Kill a lot of people and seize Iranian territory. I would imagine the Iranians would fight a guerrilla war for the next 15 years and bleed the US Army dry, but Bolton wouldn’t care.

Yes! Looking forward to being greeted with flowers and candies just like in Iraq. This Trump is really a great thinker. Mabye the best thinker!
