Discussion: Bogus Voter Fraud Panel Asked Texas To Identify Hispanic Voters

Just why would the checklist requesting documents even include a box for Hispanic surnames? Sure reveals the so-called Commission’s motives.

Anyone that’s interrogated folks knows if the defense is “why would I do that” they did it. Texas has a huge Hispanic population, is threatened with demographic shift in their direction and has a Gov and Sec of State that would get off on this crap. Why Texas? If I was Kobach it would be my first pick. I knew there was a reason they wrapped that panel up ( like they couldn’t keep a lid on the shit they were up to ) …we are seeing a bit of it here.

How shocking that many citizens of the State of Texas have Hispanic surnames. I wonder how that happened; more importantly, as @chicago11 asks, why was that important? I think we all know the answer. Kris “KKK” Kobach is a rotten bigot who really, really hates it when people vote for Democrats. He’s a disgusting pimple, just right for the Trump “Administration.”

I don’t think there was a “box”. There was request to flag names with an Hispanic ring and Kobach used the box to defend himself by claiming he didn’t check it. No one did. The data was in a data base and was extracted with one of the hashes being “Hispanic looking name” .

“It’s a complete surprise to me,” Kobach said, adding: “Mr. Williams did not ask any member of the commission whether he should check that box or not, so it certainly wasn’t a committee decision.”

“But, that all said, his having checked that box checks a lot of boxes for me.”

Texas is projected to be majority Hispanic by 2020, the last I read. So you see . . .

Meanwhile, Senate Dems are doing everything they can to assure the Hispanic immigrant community that it should not be at all excited about getting out the vote for them in 2018. Milquetoast motherfuckers.

Who’s a racist? This guy:

Abbott reportedly got 44pct of the Hispanic vote in 2014. He wants an even larger share this year. So, why would anyone make voter purge decisions in that state based on surname?

Maybe he’s not quite as popular as he was in 2014. He also ran against Wendy Davis, and I guess she was just too liberal for the good ol boys.

So do any of out Texas folk know when the “Hispanic surname flagged” option became available? That seems like it would be important to know.

The article says it is now a matter of law to identify any voter who might require bilingual ballots or voting information.

The Post reported that Texas maintains a list of voters with Hispanic surnames — based on Census Bureau data — in order to determine if bilingual election notices are necessary, as required by law.

Well that’s all well and good but do you trust that this is reason? I only ask because it’s Texas and history.

Unfortunately Wendy ran a pretty crappy campaign.

She really didn’t come off well - she seemed weak and bit dithery because she kept backing up.

Well then we’ll just have to make sure they aren’t disenfranchised or intimidated.

Start a Voter Protection PAC. I was a member of one in

I keep posting this, even though it appears to be a dead letter.

Conspiracy, check.
Intent to deprive citizens of a civil right under color of law, check.
Because of race, creed or national origin, well, that’s what it says right there on the effing form.

That would be one count per voter, or longer than humanity’s entire recorded history in prison.

I was thinking more like “Vile, pus-filled boil,” but yeah.
