Discussion: Boehner To Sue Obama 'In The Coming Weeks'

Discussion for article #224360

When will the Democrats fight back? We always seem to be playing defense & poorly at that. I know that President Obama wants to stay out of the fray - but why don’t they unleash Joe Biden? Or even President Clinton?

Please proceed, wingnuts.

Where was the quivering outrage on gwb’s multitudinous executive
orders and signing statements?

"We elected a president ... we didn’t elect a monarch or king," Boehner wrote.

The gerrymandered voters of Ohio’s 8th, on the other hand, elected a pathetic, obsequious gin-blossom.

So THAT’S where the jobs are hiding!

Boehner is such a weak duckling. If you announce you are going to sue someone, at the very least say why you are, and the legal reasons thereof (in the plaintiff’s mind). So sad.

“This is not about impeachment,” Boehner told reporters.

Of course not. They don’t have the votes in the Senate for that. So he’s doing what he can.

I think this is the greatest idea I’ve heard in awhile. I just can’t figure out how Obama managed to talk him into this.

Filing a lawsuit for Obama doing their job for them is about as insulting as it gets. I think that was the intent. It would be very appropriate for a court to call this a frivolous suit. and then fine Boehner for the court costs.

And the local democrats in Ohio 8th did not even offer up a candidate.

“The first question is whether the House has standing to sue, given that the Democratic-led Senate won’t go along with a lawsuit.”

The House barely has standing as lawmakers considering they’re only working 113 days this year.

When will the Democrats fight back?[/quote]

Fight back against what? An empty threat, made by an empty suit?

Once again, those with a 5 1/2 year memory ignore the ‘unitary executive’ theory espoused by W, with its broad reach and many signing statements.

Too gutless to impeach and too afraid of the Wingnuts to actually govern and deal with the POTUS… BONER 2016! At least he will keep the grift going and waste more taxpayer $ while b!tching about spending and waste.

Hell it didn’t stop them with Clinton.

This is simply his ploy to have something to run on in November…nothing more. The lawsuit will be withdrawn after the election.

Never rescue a man going down in cheap wine for the 3rd time. If I’m Obama I send every bill I wanted passed to the Speaker’s Office as soon as he heads for the Courthouse and the cameras.

The man is making a mockery of himself and his party. For heaven’s sake don’t fight back! Grab the snacks, and head for the recliner.

Well I guess if the Benghazi bullshit was thrown back into their faces, and Obamacare is working and the economy is improving and they can’t make any hay out of the situation in Iraq because they helped cause it, I guess this is the next move.

The question is: How big is this going to backfire?
