Discussion for article #236208
This guy is making the transition from press secretary to campaign strategist. Which is what makes him going to work for Bush’s PAC unsettling.
Jeb is planning on seriously pushing the envelope on Citizens United, basically setting up his PAC to be his campaign. From my understanding they will be doing the heavy lifting on organization, staffing field offices, etc…all the things that have to be run by the campaign, so as to get around the separation between campaigns and the PACs. The PAC will be the campaign, Bush will just follow them around and occasionally make speeches.
I’d ask how this is legal, but I’m pretty certain I wouldn’t like the answer so…
Follow the MONEY.
So this is a big fucking deal? Not hardly!!
“Ask anyone in the Capitol – Republican, Democrat, or otherwise – about Michael Steel, and they will tell you the same thing: he is a pro’s pro,”
So Bush is getting a Boehner? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
JEB is going to pushing the boundaries to see just how much a campaign can get away with. Right out of the gate, this approach of basically having the PAC doing so much of the traditional campaign work is raising eyebrows and many are asking…how can it be done without direct contact? I suspect they are going to weasel around the contact rule pretty hard.
