Discussion: Boehner invites Israeli leader to address Congress on Iran

Discussion for article #232293

Cant wait for this to backfire big time. Republican timing has been off for the past seven years.

Will he mention that Israel just murdered an Iranian general?

And just what was said general in the process of doing?

Iran has been aiding Hezbollah in developing their defense network for several years. This is why the greatly diminished Israeli ground excursions into Lebanon.

Right now Hezbollah has their hands busy fighting ISIS in Syria. Israel is trying to take advantage of this by inciting Hezbollah to retaliate at a time when Hezbollah’s resources are spread thinly.

Depending on who you believe…,maybe the Israeli’s got lucky and the Iranian general was unlucky too be way to close to the border.

Republican dream ticket for 2016: Netanyahu/Putin!

Wait, you mean everything Obama does is executive overreach, but when Congress goes out of its way to talk to foreign leaders (mostly reserved for the president to do as our head of state) than no biggie? Netanyahu has actually appeared somewhat unhinged recently. Iran has to be handled well, but really if left to the GOP or Israel (at present) I imagine bombing would happen. At least Israel has a reason for being worried in general.

The GOP likes to bomb things or talk big.

There are not enough words to express my revulsion. Netanyahu is a MONSTER…and so are we, to support him.

What could possibly go wrong?

WHAT? Seriously, WTF???

So your answer to my question is that the general was there helping Hezbollah with their defense?

Absolutely.

The attack took place in Quneitra Province, which has been the scene of intense battles with ISIS. Iran has sent some of their best forces to assist Hizbollah and bolster this area for Syria against ISIS. Russia has also sent advisers and sophisticated spotting equipment.
